Welcome to Reverse Psychology, the Fraser Rewatch podcast where we go backwards for every episode of the show. Tonight, we are covering Season 9, Episode 20, The Love You Fate, which originally aired on April 9th, 2002. Is this when Marty gets some? We'll find out. I'm your host, Curtis Sheck. Joining me as always, it's our resident upside downer, it's Ryan Sansone. Curtis. Hello. It's time again to talk Fraser. We're back at it. Also with us to do that is our annoying neighbor, it's Bradley Kirkston. Hey, hey, hey. Annoying's my middle name. I think we found it. We found the perfect title for Brad, and it's a natural intro to him. This is a big episode. This is the first episode that is before my bar mitzvah. I was not a man when this episode did. Oh, wow. Yeah, I stopped tracking that, but I'm glad I did. If I just kept doing it blindly, I would have absolutely introduced this as your bar mitzvah year. I am no longer a bar mitzvah. Okay, great. Now your behavior on the show matches the age you were when the show was on. You're a child. There we go. Yeah, I have nothing really to say about it. I'm glad we don't ever have to hear about it again, I'm sure, Bradley. Oh, yeah. I'm sure it will never come up. Never come up again. You're right. You can go back to this episode in this moment to say that we're done talking about my bar mitzvah. Yep. From this point forward, Brad will never mention that he had a bar mitzvah ever again, so everyone just lock that in on this podcast. I don't like that you have to specify that. You're like, if I call you, I can still talk about my bar mitzvah. He's going to FaceTime you without a shirt on for some reason, and he's going to be talking about his bar mitzvah. I definitely will be FaceTiming Ryan in a couple days, that's for sure. Yeah, we got the Steeler Raven game coming up. Okay, we're about to talk about sports. So in this episode- Brad just started taking his shirt off.
The games, the premises, and what everyone brought to the table.
Game / activity
Brad, Ryan and Curtis each present two invention names. The others first guess what each does, then decide which is real and which the presenter made up. The three pairs are separately resolved. No overall winner is declared. A later one-point award to Brad and Ryan applies only to their Yurtle purpose guesses; it is not a reconstructed total score.
Within the recorded rounds · 7 recorded contributions
Ryan and Curtis eventually agree Flossy Twins is made up, despite one speaker’s earlier reluctance. Brad confirms they are right: Balloon Buffoon is the real entry. The early “fake” reactions to its name remain provisional reactions, not their final selection.
RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE
Curtis guesses a machine that automatically makes balloon animals; Ryan imagines an inflatable buddy to pal around with. Brad says Ryan is closer, then describes an inflated umbrella-like device tied around the waist, supported by wires and usable in a pool. The source reports a December 31, 1991 patent; this preview does not independently verify the invention.
RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE
Curtis guesses a his-and-hers water pick. Ryan proposes a double-string mouth pick. Curtis suggests disposable floss on a plastic arm sold as a travel two-pack. Ryan then imagines two figures doing the floss dance.
RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE
Brad describes a circular device with floss on both sides so two people can floss at the same time, using handles to reach the crevices of one another’s teeth. The floss can be replaced. After the correct real/fake choice, he explains that it was inspired by Bossy Flossy, described as combining flossing and exercise. That is a debrief, not a fourth invention presented for a new round.
Ryan supplies both names, later spelling Bare as B-A-R-E. Curtis ultimately chooses Hot Dogger as real and Bare Dogger as invented; Ryan confirms the answer. Curtis also says he has reversed his earlier belief that Bare Dogger was real.
RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE
Brad imagines Hot Dogger as a portable hot-dog cooker. Curtis initially treats Bare Dogger as the real name and Hot Dogger as a plausible decoy. Brad proposes a device for quickly removing dog poop; Curtis adds the image of a dog doing bear poop. Curtis then summarizes the idea as a poop scoop. Ryan clarifies that both entries are hot-dog devices.
RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE
Bare Dogger is described as a squeezing device on a stick for eating a hot dog without a bun. Hot Dogger drills a hole into an unsliced bun so the hot dog can be inserted without juices escaping. Within the game, Ryan reveals Hot Dogger as real and Bare Dogger as his invention.
Brad and Ryan finally choose Yurtle as real and Flizz as invented. Curtis says that is incorrect: Flizz is the real entry, and he made up Yurtle. His later caveat—that a similar canoe/tent might exist—does not change which name he invented for this game. Their individual turns within the joint final-choice discussion are not fully attributed.
RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE
Brad guesses a type of sandal. After the explicit “What do you think, Ryan?” handoff, Ryan rejects sandal and guesses a hair product. Ryan adds “Unfrizz your hair.” Brad follows with “Do you have flizz hair?” and “My product will help you.” Curtis reveals a bicycle with no pedals or seat: a tall arched frame suspends the rider in a harness, allowing them to run for speed and lift their feet to coast.
RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE
Brad proposes a chair that shelters its occupant like a tent. Ryan proposes a pogo stick with a wheel, reasoning that it may aid mobility. Curtis declares both half right and gives each one point. He describes Yurtle as poles and fabric configured either as a canoe or a one-person tent. These are local purpose-guess points, separate from the later incorrect real/fake selection.

I definitely will be FaceTiming Ryan in a couple days, that's for sure. Yeah, we got the Steeler Raven game coming up. Okay, we're about to talk about sports. So in this episode- Brad just started taking his shirt off. In the early 2000s, when this episode ran, the idea of the Segway would have been, clearly according to the episode, exciting to the masses. People were raving about it. It was so hyped, but it ultimately went out with a whimper. People just thought it was kind of stupid in real life. Do they still exist? No, they still exist, but also it's because the guy rode his Segway off a mountain, the guy that created it. That's not, that can't be the only reason. It is. That was what he did when everybody hated his thing. It's a dark joke either way, but I don't know. Did he do it on accident or purpose, Bradley? It was on accident. It was not on purpose. It is kind of, it's a bad sign for the technology though. It's definitely a bad sign for the technology, but I've listened to entire podcasts about this. Like it was really, really hyped. What are you talking about? Why have you listened to entire podcasts, plural? What is wrong with you? So many things. We don't have time to get into it. What we're trying to get into right now is inventions. What inventions were you really excited about or looking forward to only to discover upon release that they kind of sucked. Brad, what do you got? Robo dogs. I remember getting really hyped that like robotic animals and robotic dogs. You're talking about the cheap toy that cost like $20 when it came out? No, no. They used to, they tried to make in like the mid 2000s, like these really, they're kind of creepy looking robotic dogs. It was literally the one that was on the podcast or on the show, wasn't it? Is that the one you're talking about? It was, there was an episode. Yeah, you're right. They weren't cheap. I think they were really expensive, but I thought that like robotic animals in general were going to be like a thing of the future when I was a kid. And that is not going to be a thing anytime soon. Why did you think they would be the thing of the future? I know they'd be the thing of the future. Yeah. Why did neither of you think that? Imagine a robot dog that does all the things that a dog could do, but doesn't poop. Yep, exactly. And that's, and I remember people talking about that. That was going to be like a thing, like robotic pets. Are you guys picturing like a furry thing or like a metallic? Okay. So the early 2000s, it was the metallic robot dog. I assumed that that, when that died, that there was no real replacement of it. But my husband is impossible to buy for, for Christmas. And recently when I was trying to figure out what to get him, he loves cats. We do not have a real life cat. And I thought, I just, I was just, it was trying anything. I just Googled robot cat and they sell furry cat robots that look creepy as fuck. In fact, I think one of them was like, you can send him pictures of your own animal and they would send you like, they would send you like a robot cat that kind of vaguely looked like a creepy version of your cat. It's wild. That's disgusting. That appalls me. I did not get him a robot cat. Were they expensive? I think they were like one to 200 bucks. Oh my. Is that the custom one or is that like the off the shelf robot cat? I don't really remember. I don't really remember. Also, I assume the fur is like that one plant that everyone used to have that would grow afros and stuff. Chia? Ch-ch-ch-chia? Yeah. I assume it's all just chia. Ch-ch-ch-ch-chia. It looks like something that would have been released in the early 2000s. Like it doesn't look like a modern, impressive piece of technology. Yeah. Cause no one wanted it. So they didn't keep developing it. Ryan, what about you? What was your invention of choice? It's hard to explain for you guys. Cause you, like most of the male population I could say this to, I wouldn't have to explain it at all, but since you two are abnormals, uh, there was a show called there, there was a show called Dragon Ball Z. Goku is a shell. This is who you are. You travel by meteor to hide amongst the vermin until your 18th birthday. Uh, yeah. Yep. You lost both of us. We're done. I know. I know. Never saw it, but I'm following so far. It's about people that are very strong and they fight and they fly around and they, you know, blast each other. No, I'm sorry. You got confused there. That's, that sounds like a Marvel movie. You're talking about a Marvel movie. It's a show about masculine energy. Got it. All right. Keep going. I mean, sometimes females, but mostly, yeah, it's mostly males. One episode with females, one episode. One of the things they hadn't it early. They had this very early was they would have this eyewear and they, you'd be able to detect everyone's power level with it. It was for some reason only on one eye. Like it was a futuristic monocle for some reason. Uh, but you could tell how strong someone was. So like to just think about how useful that would be. Right. So are you just trying to sell us on Google glasses? I thought Google glass was going to be that exactly. Okay, cool. Because it was sounding a lot like instead of talking about an actual invention in the world, you were talking about a cartoon and an invention in that. That was obviously, as soon as I saw Google glass, it was like, yes, the Dragon Ball Z scouter is here. It's real. I'm so excited. And then it was a piece of shit. Goku's time is over. And somehow never developed. Don't worry, Curtis. I took Ryan's idea and turned it into the question you asked us. It's all good. We were getting there eventually. I mean, Google glass was a big, I was so excited. I was like, yes, we've done it. I'll be able to detect everyone's power level. And then I put it on and it, oh, I didn't buy one because no one did. But if I did, it would have been a shit experience. Were they like $3,000 or something? They were very expensive and they made you throw up. Yeah. Well, I've got, I've got a few things on my list and robot dog, by the way, is on my list. You have a list? I knew that somebody else was going to pick that robot dog. So I had to have a backup. And was DBZ scatter on the list or? No, no. But so when I was probably just about in college, I'd gotten this new computer. It was like a laptop computer. And one of the advertised features of it, it came with, it wasn't like Windows home or Windows student. It was like Windows media. And it was supposed to be like the specialized version of their operating system that had all these multimedia capabilities. And one of them was that you could watch TV with it. But I found out after I bought the computer that to get TV to like actually play on it, you had to get a TV tuner, like a separate plugin device to plug into the computer to get like an antenna signal of over the air TV. And I was so excited when I bought this thing. It was, it was made by Pinnacle. And it was probably like 100 bucks. And it was this thing you plugged in like a USB port. And it did function as a TV tuner. But it was so shitty. I could only ever get it to watch live ABC. No other channel came in. And what is the Pinnacle sponsored by ABC? Well, and I thought I would be able to like treat it like a DVR and like record shows and like watch them. And I could record them if I was sitting there watching it and hit record. But it wasn't like a thing where you could schedule it to watch something at a certain time while I'm away and just record like it wouldn't do any of those things. It was absolutely terrible. It almost never worked for shit. And it was such a disappointment. I this is like before streaming really happened. And I didn't I was in college, I didn't really have cable or I didn't know we had a TV in our room to have TV on my computer that I could record anytime seemed like such a promising future. And it was shit. For the record, I don't think you and your freshman roommate did have a TV in your room. No, because your freshman roommate would usually be in the next door room playing rock band. Yes, absolutely. Well, I have no transition for this one. None of that worked out. Neither will this segue. That's a great transition. Your freshman roommate would be in the other room rock band. Okay, Fraser. I was studiously in my room watching Fraser. Oh, there you go. All right. Why don't we get into this episode? What do you say? Let's do it. Let's do it. We open with radio signals over Seattle. Fraser is in a tizzy because Cam Winston's washer leaked into his apartment. He bribes a super to cut off Cam's water. Niles rides in on a segue as part of a psychological experiment where he cannot share it. Eddie is sick. Luckily, Cam's mom is a vet. Guys, huge episode for the Upside Down. Huge episode for this podcast. I agree 100%. This is the first time we've heard the phrase reverse psychology. Reverse psychology. Name justified. Suck it, internet. Yes. I made a note of that. I thought that was a big moment. I hope you play the drop like 10 times so that everyone can understand this is a well-named podcast. No one can argue against it. Good idea. Reverse psychology. They just can't. It's in the show. Reverse psychology. Yes, obviously, it's like one of Daphne's seven lines of the whole series, but still, it was seven. Those are precious lines. There's only eight in the entire series, and this is one of them. And then almost immediately, we barely have time to breathe, and we get to meet Cam Winston, the famous guy from like one other episode. So yeah, so what was your thought of Cam Winston? He definitely wasn't quite how I expected. I did a prediction of what he's like, and I'm sure I got some right, but didn't get all of it right. If we were a good podcast, we would have bothered to look up what you had said about him before we came here to record. Doesn't sound like us. Yeah, no, it's fine. Reverse psychology. He's skinnier than I expected. Interesting. And I want to say a little shorter, but he was kind of tall, so it's hard to tell. Like they make a whole bit about him being tall at some point. I don't know. The voice was crazy. The voice on the phone was fine. The voice in person is like, what are you doing? Why are you talking like this, Cam? I feel like the whole point, they're trying to make him about to be like the African-American Frasier. I mean, he's clearly doing like Frasier-esque mannerisms, definitely. And that's what I think the voice is too. Like a version of Frasier's voice. I don't know. I don't know if it sounds like that or not, but it's annoying. So I guess, I guess they got that in common. Is Frasier at home? Someone has shut off my water and I suspect his hand is at the spigot. I am team Cam Winston though. He annoys me, but I'm still going to root for him over Frasier so far. I don't know if we're going to meet him again in this show, but from this episode, team Cam. It would be wild if the implication that this is an ongoing feud is invented for this episode. Yeah, but it doesn't mean we see it. Like we know next season, we're going to re-evoke his name, but we don't see him. So that's, we could do that. I thought there was a chance we did that for the whole series. Were you guys as surprised as me to find out that Frasier doesn't have a washer and dryer in his unit? It was insane. And then when we found out that there was the hookups, he just didn't want it. Well, he needs a place for his hats. Here's the part about that that isn't crazy to me. Washer dryer is a domestic chore that he doesn't ever have to do. And so there's no status symbol for him in owning it. There's no like lazy, I don't want to schluck down, schluck? That's not a word. Sheck. That's your last name. Sheck down. I don't want to schluck downstairs to deal with it. Like he doesn't benefit personally from it. So of course he doesn't have. The only thing I don't, I'm not buying. You're telling me Marty never lobbied for one? He's not doing the laundry either. On behalf of Daphne. I don't think Marty ever thought about it. I don't think that thought ever crossed his mind. I mean, we all agree he's nipping it. Now, wait a minute. I'm going to say something that Ryan, I think you're going to appreciate because you're a Marty hater. But I think it's possible that Marty, he's probably heard it from Daphne. Like it's really annoying. I have to go downstairs to do this laundry. He doesn't want to lobby for a machine because when she goes downstairs, he gets the apartment to himself for a minute. You know what? That tracks. All right. You sold me. Yeah, I think that's it. So Niles drives in and he's pompous and he's at one point he offers fudgesicles. Yes. Yes. Didn't track. Well, it doesn't quite track for his character, but I gotta say like the way he is behaving is clearly meant to evoke this guy's annoying. Like we're supposed to find him annoying, but I can only be charmed by a man on a Segway offering everyone fudgesicles. A man on a Segway wearing a suit offering everyone fudgesicles. Niles. This is peak Niles. This is easily my favorite Niles. Like he's the worst. You want to see him run into like a wall. When he starts swerving early in this scene, oh my God. I disagree with you. I liked that he had this cool swagger to him that was so unjustified, but he had this weird swagger to him. This is the closest to athletic Niles has ever been. I don't think you know what athletic means, Curt. I don't think you appreciate what an athlete Niles isn't. I did. I loved everything he was doing. Would have loved to have seen him got very hurt on it. Maybe not fall off a mountain and die, but like, you know, hit something pretty hard. Daphne is so pissed to not have a washer dryer. She's doing math. Cora comes to check on Eddie and bonds with Marty. Much to Frazier's chagrin. The fact that she found out about the tap and then Frazier didn't go fix it like right away is crazy. Like bananas move. It's not because he cares about his hats. His hats are more important than the washer and dryer, Ryan. What are you not understanding? Yeah, but if you're Daphne, who I assume that even before her and Niles started dating that, you know, she was a fixture of the family, so to speak, to just like blatantly be like, yeah, I guess you're going down. I think she said, I think it's six flight of stairs. Like, all right, it's an elevator, but still you're going all the way to the basement to keep doing my laundry. That's just like, that is just a huge fuck you that no one should tolerate. Are you saying it's weird that Daphne is tolerating it or weird that Frazier isn't letting up? That Frazier didn't get super embarrassed and fix it right away when they revealed that they had the hookups in there. We don't know if he ever fixed it. She shouldn't even have had to ask. He should have been like, yeah, sorry, this was an insane thing to do. I'll move the hats. This was my bad. I shouldn't have done this. I think she refers to it as a hat museum at one point in the scene. Yeah, she was trying to say that like that was an insult, but it like honestly made it sound more prestigious. It just did. What did you guys think of Marty? Like, I think flirting with her. I couldn't really know. I can't look these things up. So this was we met this lady back in season 11, right? Season 10, I think this is the woman that Gertrude chased away. Oh, yeah, you're right. You're right. And she was like, oh, Marty, we had a fun time that one random episode. There you go. It really even more bizarre. Like we thought it was bizarre then. It's weirder seeing how much they ended up clicking that this is like, I assume the only other time we see her. They never talk about her. Yeah, for sure. It seemed to me like this was the meeting her. Yeah, because Fraser addresses her upon seeing her like, oh, Dr. Winston. So he certainly knows of her and has met her. The question that doesn't mean we'll meet her again. Yeah, true. In terms of Marty's flirting, there's this real fun bit. Eddie's tough. Plus the smartest dog ever. I always thought border collies were the smartest dog. Well, it's obvious you haven't had much exposure to dogs. What were you, a zoo doctor? No, I just treat pets and their owner's egos. Oh, yeah, tell me. Cat people. I'm assuming, Ryan, that this this Marty's ability to completely obliviously just deflect all of criticism away from himself and onto her even must have pissed you off so much. Now, you know, we're talking animals. I was a little like, oh, do I remember this girl? I wasn't like paying that much attention for this bit of lines. And Ryan's not really a big animal guy to begin with. I'm allergic to him. I just can't get on board. So I just assume she said something he was. Yes, and in her. It's real funny if he was just like ignoring whatever she was saying. Do you guys find it weird that Cam's mom is younger than him? The casting was interesting, Carl. She does look younger than him. At best, they're the same age. I think he's supposed to be like right around Frasier's age, but he does look about 20 years older than Frasier. And she looks way younger than Marty. She makes him look older when they're together. Cora meets Marty again in the lobby. Cam and Frasier are being so obnoxious about them being friendly that they hatch a scheme to pretend to date. See, to me, this was the scene where I was like, oh, they're really trying to get this guy to be just like Frasier. They hammed it up in this scene. They hammed it up in the scene. Yeah. So that's what I was like. Oh, this is like Frasier Jr. Or Frasier Sr. I should say. I like the way that they because they both hit a male point and they both did something weird while getting under the elevator. I like that they didn't go exactly the same. They kind of did a variance of the two because for a second it felt like they were just going to run the exact. A bit twice. Yeah, exactly. I'm glad they didn't, but it was very clear they were drawing a direct parallel. I did enjoy at the end the Frasier nodding because it was so aggressive. Yeah, I enjoyed it as well. The nodding was so, so aggressive. Yeah. Well, and I feel like a lot of comedy is reaction, like the crazy person's being crazy. And the funny part is the normal person reacting to it. And I love seeing Marty and Cora seeing their own children behaving like maniacs and just like, are you kidding me? Like we're having we're in a lobby. Like this is not a problem. I actually like that. They just kind of laughed it off and didn't like argue with them or anything, but they just laughed it off and didn't take it seriously. Like the right reaction. Like the rest of the world. They have no respect for Frasier and Cam. Yeah, I actually really enjoyed Frasier and Cam trying to put their foot down and being unsuccessful at it. I love the idea of like, you don't like them. Like, well, you're having a feud with the one guy, I guess the families can still interact. Nope. I enjoy that as a stance. It's exactly how I assume Bradley would be. Exactly. Marty arrives at Cora's first thing in the morning. Both are in bathrobes to trick Winston into thinking they're a couple. Tell you what, man, this is quite a prank. They really go for it. I'm very impressed with how much thought they put into this. I didn't like when they were executing the prank. I didn't like how they interacted with both of them to make it obvious. I thought they should have played a little more coy. But Frasier and Cam are both so insane that they didn't notice. I kind of expected there to be more of a like pretend embarrassed. Like, oh no, you weren't supposed to see us. But I actually prefer the way they do it because they're so comfortable. They know that their sons hate each other. They know they're not going to be happy about this. And they're so just blazonly, just happily presenting themselves as having slept with each other. It completely throws Cam Winston off his game. He doesn't know how to react. You wouldn't either, to be fair. I don't know if we're going to see this out of Marty again. Like, but if you're just like, oh, you two old people slept together in my apartment. Okay, great. I would leave immediately. No, even if we didn't hate the person. And then you throw on the fact that you don't like him. I wouldn't know how to react either. Cam's excuse for not accepting breakfast because he wants to get the hell out of there. His excuse is he's not really hungry. Fair. That's fine. But then he says, I'll pick something up on the way to work. So you are hungry. You're admitting that you're hungry. You just don't want to be around here. Oh, that is funny. What did you all think of Cam's apartment? I love that they just redressed the set. I think that was a good choice. And added a door to the kitchen. Oh, I didn't clock that. But that definitely did happen. Do you think that that door to that kitchen is like what is really happening? And that's why it's always soundproof because it's an enclosed room. And just for the sake of the flow of the story, they just pretend like the door isn't there in Frasier's regular apartment. I would love to believe that. But this episode kind of throws that in the flux because it would be tough for Niles to segue through that door. I would actually love to have the scene where he fumbled trying to open it while on the segue. Yeah, people just kind of open doors for him in this episode. Yeah, they really do. Which I would never. I would love to jump in that headcanon with you, though. I just can't. Just because of the segue. They continue the ruse, but this time for Frasier's benefit. Frasier freaks out until Marty guilt trips him. Frasier also confronts Daphne about her laundry sabotage, but she extorts a washer dryer from him. I thought her threats were a little weak. Really? Yeah. One sock went missing. I'm going to turn some of your clothes pink. I'm going to shut you down right now, Ryan. Oh. You're thinking about what if somebody threatened you with missing a sock? And you're thinking to yourself, I've never had two socks that matched in my life. I am frequently missing one sock. Actually, I'm on a sock run, Curt. I'm losing a sock every week. One a week. You're not Frasier. Frasier takes that stuff seriously. Exactly. I certainly don't have Argyle. I lost my Argyle socks moons ago. How many Daphne moons ago did you lose it? Uh, well, if we're going by time she spoke on the show, uh, eight. Did you think, though, that Frasier screaming at her was a little intense? Like, he really, he really screamed at her. What is the meaning of this? Where is his mate? I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about. My favorite pair of socks reduced to a single Argyle. Nor is this the only example. The keen observer yesterday would have noticed that I left the apartment wearing two shades of black. Explanation, please. Really interesting, because this is the only time we've seen him be a huge dick to her since that, like, stupid croc episode. He felt real douchey there. Really douchey. I agree. And she couldn't give a damn, which I really enjoyed. Yeah, this is definitely him trying to get his way. He sees his dad with Winston's mom, and then the Daphne thing happened, so he didn't know how to react, so he decided just to scream at her and be a dick. That is a good point. He's already riled up, and now he sees a fight he feels like he should be able to win. This is technically his subordinate. Like, this is somebody who works for him. He shouldn't really have to justify anything to her. It's just like, this is the way it is. But he knows she is in control of his life, because she is in control of his wardrobe. So, he doesn't really have much power here. Well, also, if she got fired, right? Like, she's still dating Niles. I doubt she's the breadwinner of this relationship. Well, not just that, but we've seen the lengths to which Daphne is willing to take so much shit from these people and just do what is asked of her. I mean, she describes... In the last nine years, I've carried 2.8 tons of laundry, approximately 106.4 miles back and forth to the basement. That's the same as carrying an SUV on my back to Canada. He is never going to find an employee that good again. I don't care what he's paying her. There is nobody he's going to find that's going to be as accommodating as Daphne. My only thing about this is, Fraser just got angry. He didn't really have a reaction besides just screaming. I mean, that's a huge reaction. What are you talking about? Like, he did it like... That's the biggest reaction we've seen of Curtis. Of Fraser, he'd do anything. Look, he didn't have any reaction. All he did was drive off of a cliff on his Segway. It all comes full circle. We've never seen Fraser scold Daphne at all, because why would he? And he comes at... This is the biggest scold he's ever done. We get a title card. Speaking of segues, dot dot dot, Fraser is in a mood at the cafe. Niles arrives on his scooter and gets free coffee and applause from an adoring crowd. Ross suggests Fraser take the high road right before Cam calls to do exactly that. You know how you said cafe real annoying in a way that everyone wants to hit you? That's how I felt I wanted to hit Niles the entire time, this whole scene, the same way I just felt when you said, what'd you say? Cafe. I agree with you, but before we even get to that, can we please give Roz a round of applause for finally being in a scene this episode? I forgot she was in this episode. And having four lines in the whole episode. She doesn't do any. She does nothing. Nothing. She gives the advice that doesn't really matter. I kind of liked when Niles walked in, I should say walked in, wheeled in, and everyone loved him. He was like the celebrity in the coffee shop. I hated it. I thought this reaction was insane. Like, I know we talked about it at the top. Segways were a big deal. There's no way the entire coffee shop crowds around and just stares at everything he's doing. Well, they might stare at everything he's doing, but they were like staring with awe. That's actually a good point. They just stare. They don't say a word. They literally just stare at him. Ryan, you have to understand, Cafe Nervosa is a very high-end coffee shop. The people there, they embrace new ideas. That is the hallmark of this new century. Don't you hope he gets hit by a car? I was annoyed with everything that he was said and doing in this coffee shop, but I did like that end speech. It was a fun way to exit a coffee shop. The idea that minimum wage workers are going to buy coffee for some stooge on a Segway because they're just so impressed by him. They think it's so cool. That's wilder to me than a crowd being, you know, excited about a weird guy on a Segway. There's one thing to be excited about. It's another thing to just be like staring like, oh my God, this is the greatest moment of my life. I've seen a man on a Segway. The weirdest part about this plot, I think, is that any other Frasier episode, the whole dynamic would be Frasier jealous of Niles. Like Niles getting all this attention. Niles having this new toy. All of these things would be things he's, but he's so preoccupied with the Cam Winston situation that he's not reacting at all to Niles, really. I mean, from Frasier's standpoint, I don't know. How much would you do other than just be like, oh, Niles, give an arrest? I mean, I suppose. I think those are the two ways to go with it. He's either annoyed by Niles or he is jealous of him. But I could see this being the kind of thing in 2002 he would have been jealous of. Yeah, OK. I guess so. So Ryan, what did you think of the end of the scene when Cam caught him? Oh, yes. Yes. Right. Right. The truce. And Frasier's so excited to get the upper hand and then Cam calls him that minute. Correct. And that's where it goes back to you calling Frasier a dick because that's such a dick move that he was so annoyed that he wasn't first to do it. I thought that was actually pretty fun. And it was exactly something Frasier would get mad at. But this harken back to the Luis Guzman episode when he wouldn't give up the parking ticket out of principle. It was very similar. I enjoyed it a lot. I do love when he basically tells Cam, I know you called me, but I thought of it first. And it's like, how could that be if he was already dialing? What are you talking about? We watched it, Frasier. You didn't have the idea until the minute he called. Oh, no, no. Because Roz gave him the idea. So he was going to do it, but at Roz's behest. Right. But I'm saying, presumably, when Cam had the idea to do the same thing, he was already, he had the thought, started dialing, got through to Frasier at the moment Frasier was getting the idea. He didn't come up with it first. It's not. Oh, yeah, definitely. That's true. That's that's definitely true. And he didn't come up with the idea. Crane and Cam try to put their differences aside for the sake of their parents and engage in a series of negotiations to settle their scores. I'll tell you what, man, this was a scene. There's a lot to unpack here. It's an interesting throwback that they're doing all this on like a legal pad. No, no. Before that, before that. So, Brad, you said he's supposed to be Black Frasier. That's fine. Why didn't he have sherry? What was his weird, I guess, white wine drink he had or something weird? I wasn't sure what the alcohol was. I thought it was weird. They never like said it. Didn't approach it at all. No. It was in a decanter ported. I don't know. Who drinks white wine? Even before that, how about it was a Frasier or Cam that said honey glazed pleasantries. Is that a phrase? No. Okay, good. It's just a phrase that they use. What was the phrase? Honey glazed pleasantries. Oh, I thought that was a nice little phrase. But is it a phrase? Like, I understand. Do you appreciate the... It's clearly like an insult where you're just like, oh, I can see what you're doing. I guess if you spell it out, it gets a little confusing. But I got what he was going for. No, but the question I'm asking is, is this something people say ever? Or is this invented for the show? Most of what Frasier says isn't something people ever say. Well, that's a good point, Ryan. That's a great point. How about the talk about Court TV? I didn't realize Court TV was so scandalous. I remember him saying it, but what was the exact line? The parents were downstairs watching Court TV. Oh, yeah. That was an insult to Marty. He's like, oh, you like shit TV. Yeah, that track. The terms of the truce. I didn't write any of them down. And every single one of them were so funny. Well, it started with the switched mailboxes because Cam didn't want to bend down. That was the first one. Yeah, it was like a functional thing. The boots that he wears that is too loud for Frasier. Oh, yeah. The way that he steps across. Frasier explaining his gait across the apartment. Sh-clop. Sh-clop. Sh-clop. Well, it just sounds like a dancing pony in my apartment. Yeah. And then they cut, you know, we do like a time jump and he's like, all right, but I really need your recipe for a bath bomb or something. Yeah. And then the sweater weaver. He needed his sweater weaver. And then it was like, yeah, yeah, this isn't it. Let's go back to an old draft. Well, not just let's go back to an old draft, but that as soon as they say old draft, they start going through the pile of scrunched up like paper drafts. I just wish this was a whole episode. I thought it was so great. I would have loved to have heard everything they came up with. Like, give me the extended cut of this. Like, let's get, let's get them all. Or at least the final version. Yeah, definitely. At least post it online for me. Daphne tricks Niles so she can ride the segue. Cam and Frasier announce their truce and Cora suggests making the relationship real. So the truce doesn't hold. We know that. We assume it at least because we know he goes back to hating Cam after this episode. The way this ends, it's, it's Frasier and him going off to the opera together. And they're clearly, as Cora mentioned earlier in the episode, like so alike. It's not clear that they're necessarily going to be friends, but you do kind of get the impression they're not supposed to be enemies either. Like they're kind of frenemies at the end of this episode. Acquaintances, yeah. I like frenemies as a term. Wait a minute, Brad. Acquaintances and frenemies are not synonyms. For Brad, it is. I was hoping you were just going to keep going and agree with that. You have to understand Brad's used to dealing with like, you know, 13 year olds. Like frenemies is, and acquaintances is, that is a synonym for them. I would have liked to have seen a frenemy episode from Cam and Frasier where the truce broke. I think we could have, there's plenty of episodes we could have just taken out and done that. I don't know why we didn't get it. You know, like the back of the season. It kind of writes itself too, right? Like you have a moment where Frasier thinks Cam broke the truce because of some perceived slight. And then it'll turn out that he just misunderstood what happened and it wasn't a slight. But now the truce is over and they're fighting again. Like it's, there's a million ways to play that. It'd be so easy. And you'd think, because they were, you know, he was, let's say he was doing a proper Frasier impression or whatever. They were fine together. You would have thought they'd have been very annoying, but they had decent chemistry. When they were in the same scene together, it wasn't as hard to watch as I would have guessed from like the earlier bits. You're right. It's, it's a weird thing. They've sort of struck a balance where he's like Frasier, but not so carbon copy that it's hack. He's also annoying the way Frasier's annoying. But in the same way of like Niles and Frasier are very similar and their energy works together. I think Cam and Frasier work as something to watch. You wouldn't want to spend time with them in real life, but they're entertaining to watch and to wrap. Yes, exactly. And I don't know if we could have done the whole season of it, but we definitely could have done at least an ad. That's what I was going to say. It's a little surprising that they don't have more of it besides like Ryan has seen him one other time. Heard him. Heard him. Heard him on almost 50 episodes that we've done. Yeah. I mean, it's weird. We didn't get more Cora Marty because they also. It's really weird. It's really, really weird. It's also interesting that they don't even sort of play it as an off screen thing. It's not like I think in the episode that follows this up, they literally say, yeah, we had that good time and then nothing really came of it. And maybe we can make it happen now. Yeah. And then that falls apart, too. Like canon is that she was only there temporarily because her apartment was getting cammed up. Well, that's true. But I like it is weird that they never tried at all. It's not like Marty had a lot going on. Yeah. Well, and it was it was her that like she's the one that's going away, but it's also her that's pursuing it. Like she's the one that at the end of this episode sort of kisses him for real and is like, no, we should totally bang. I think those are the words she uses. It's not like she's going to another country. Like I think she's still in Seattle. Probably. They didn't explain if she wasn't, at least. Like Marty, it was at some point in right before the Ronnie bit. He's like, yeah, I gave up on love. Like I had nothing going on because I'm an old fuddy duddy. Like, why didn't you try with this girl who kissed you? Like, what are you doing? I could be wrong. I really got the impression that Marty did try with her off screen, but she sort of ghosted. No, I think if I remember the scene where we see her, she's just like, yeah, it's weird. We didn't try more of that. And he's like, yeah, it is weird. But I've got Ronnie now. So see ya. He did not have Ronnie then. Oh, well, then it's really confusing. Why didn't you just go for it then? I don't know. I don't know. In order to find out any of this, we'd have to go forwards in time and watch an episode that came out after this one. And that's just simply not going to happen. It is not how this podcast works. It won't be satisfying anyway. So it won't explain it. Even if he was like, yeah, we tried real hard and that one date went horribly. I don't know. Try better. Keep just messing with Fraser and Cam. That seems enough for a whole relationship at your age. Fraser plays us out with Daphne and Niles, Benny Hilling on the segue. I did like that Daphne tricked him in the previous scene, but it leads to this and now she's writing it. I did like that. That made me very proud of Daphne. I like that she won the segue. This, as all of the scrambled eggs was stupid, this was one of the better ones I know. I was going to say, this is the best one of the season so far. That means nothing. That is grim. Yeah. Easily a top three of classic Fraser scrambled egg scenes, which means absolutely nothing. Usually this show lives in maybe not the real world, but it's a heightened Fraser reality. But they don't do a lot of zany. Like this is such a weird Benny Hill bit. Like it's, this would not happen for these characters in their lives. It's just happening because they need a bit for a TV show. Yeah, I'm fine with that. If you want to do more of that to make them entertaining, go for it. Like we don't have to do boring ones to keep it in reality or whatever. All right, Brad. Did you find this to be a good episode? Yeah, I actually really liked this episode. I really did. And I was excited about this episode beforehand. I liked that there was three different plots and they really kind of interweaved each other a lot more than some of the other episodes do with three different plots, three real plots. So I liked it. I'm going to give it a pretty high Brad score of an A minus. That is a really high score. Curtis, what do you think? Okay, here's the problem. I am really bad with numbers and math. It's just not my strong suit. And I've assigned myself a task of ranking every episode. We're up to 63 that we've watched. And I'm ranking this as 37 out of 63. And the problem is, I don't know if that means it's a good episode, a mediocre. It's probably mediocre, but it doesn't. I don't know how high or low on the list this is, but it's 37 out of 63. Can't wait till we get to the 200s. Yeah, it's going to be a problem. What is it sandwiched around? Not as good as Coots and Ladders, but it is better than Door Jam. Coots and Ladders, I think we all liked a lot. Door Jam, you two, I think, hated, but I liked. So it's confusing those two are next to each other for you. It's a really bad system. It's going to get so much worse. It's going to be so difficult for you at some point. It's a nightmare. Well, Ryan, was this episode a nightmare for you? No, no. This was, so I gave it a 7-7. And I don't know if that, I really enjoyed the episode. And I can't tell if it's because the season has been garbage. Like I gave it a lower score initially than the Cheers episode. And I think some of that was just the nostalgia bump. And I, of course, lowered it when we found out Kenny's intel. So this one ended up being higher. I don't know. I had no problems with it other than the fact that we won't pick any of this up later, which I don't think you should ding an episode for that. Correct. Yeah. This is a really good Marty episode, which normally I hate. And yet I still enjoyed it through and through. Even though he was winning throughout the whole episode, it worked for me. Stunned, Curt. I'm stunned. Okay. 7-7. 7-7. It's a good drink. Don't order that. That's an awful drink. You're better than that. Horrible. It's a high school drink for girls. It will be interesting, like, as we get to some of the better seasons. Or maybe it's the rest of season nine. It's good. Who knows? But I don't know. It's just a weird time to come up to this episode. Yeah. It is interesting that this is seven out of, not seven out of seven. This is a 7.7. Not all of us rank everything we've ever seen together. Really? So it's interesting that that's a fairly high score for a season you have marked as pretty dog shit overall. No, no, no. Very dog shit. I want to be very clear. Much worse than New Frasier to this point. So it'll be interesting as we get to, say, season five or season three, if you'll be like, that 7.7 is down to like a two. I hope so. That would be great. I mean, that's a win for us if that's the case. Absolutely. If you had never seen or heard of a Segway, it's unlikely you'd guess its purpose based on its name alone. And if you were told its purpose, it's as likely as not that you'd assume it wasn't real. In the spirit of the Segway, we will try to identify the purpose and plausibility of inventions, starting only with the name. It's a new seg-ment. Oh, Curt, good job. We are calling No Way Segway. Name sucks, but that was a good pun you had in there. Who wants to go first? I'm happy to go first. So my first one is called the Balloon Buffoon. It sounds like everything you've ever said. The Balloon Buffoon. Okay. It's fake. I'll tell you that much. It doesn't sound real, does it? It sounds incredibly fake. I think it's a device that automatically makes balloon animals. Like you just put like some- Like any buffoon can make a balloon is the idea? Yeah. Like it's just you insert a bunch of unfilled balloons and it automatically fills them and ties them into balloon nails. I assume it's a balloon buddy, you know? Like you inflate this thing and it's a balloon, but like, you know, you can pal around with this buffoon. I don't know. It's a stupid- You mean like a Japanese body pillow? No, because obviously it's a balloon. It wouldn't be that tough, but like something that looks vaguely cute. Like you could high five it or something, but you couldn't do too much because it's still a balloon. Okay. Is either of us right, first of all, or even close? Ryan is closer. When you wear it around your waist, it inflates and it goes above your head to cover you from the sun or the rain. But basically it's like a umbrella that's tied around your waist and gets inflated. Come on. Come on. I mean, then that's obviously not what you would call that. Did you say there was wires? Yeah. It's like, it's like wires that, that is holding it up. Is it a balloon? That you inflate. Yes. Is it more like, uh, you know, like an inflatable pool or is it a balloon? Great question. You can use it in the pool as well, too. You can take it off and put it in the pool. Yes. It sounds a little tough. It sounds like balloon is a terrible name for this and buffoon makes no sense. Okay. I'm eager to find out what the other thing is because I'm also ready to call this fake, but I need to hear what the other one is first. Great. Flossy twins. Man. Oh boy. I don't think I, Brad would say buffoon is his made up word. I don't know what the hell a flossy twin is though. I don't, that sounds like two, that sounds like the Paul brothers or something. Like, I don't, I don't know what to do with that. I'm just, all I can think of is like a his and hers water pick. It's better than what I got. I was thinking like, uh, you know, there's a mouth picks, you know, like that is better than flossing, but it's not a water pick. I'm picturing like a two, two strings of that or something. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe it's those little devices that you use to like, it's not like loose floss. It's like connected to like a plastic arm and they're like disposable. I don't remember what those are called, but maybe it's like you get a travel two pack. How about we go the other route? And it's, it's, uh, you know, like the dancing Santa. It's like, instead of Santa, it's just two twins that do the floss dance. Brad, are we, are we hitting anywhere on that dartboard? It is a circular device has floss around both sides and you and your partner floss at the same exact time. And you use the handles in the middle to help each other get into the crevices of your teeth. Why does that? No. Why would that help? You know, it, it really just helps you get in there. It's just a circle, right? Like it's just a string of floss. It's a loop is what you're saying. Correct. And there's like a handle in the middle and it really just helps you get in a handle. Like in the middle of it, of the circle, there's like a metal handle that you hold on to. This is a one time use product. You can use it multiple times because you can replace the floss. You can't multiple use floss, Brad. You just replace the floss line. Well, how does it come out of the metal handle? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And how does it, how does it attach to the other side? It's just a circle. What are you talking about? This is nonsense. This is, this is clearly fake. At least the, uh, the inflatable baboon, it has a use case. Yeah, this is crazy. Every night me and my husband floss next to each other. There's no world in which we would share one device to do it at the same time. It's just not going to happen. It doesn't make sense and it doesn't help, right? Like the description doesn't like, you don't get extra leverage. You know how like a dentist can floss you and they can get better angles. This doesn't solve that. This is just annoying for everyone. This is like an AI answer that at first kind of vaguely looks like the thing that was asked for, like an invention, but then you like look closely and you're like, that thing doesn't even have a hand. Yeah. It's weird that Brad would come up with it though. He doesn't like, uh, his personal space getting crowded. I assume that would still be true. Even if it was like he was married to someone for 30 years. Are we agreed flossy twins? That's the bullshit. It just doesn't make sense. I still want to say the, the buffoon one, but like this makes no sense. We don't have to go together. We could, we could see, uh, if you want to grab the baboon, I'll grab the flossy twins and we'll see who comes out the victor. I'm going to join you on it, but I like, I'm not loving it. Okay. Brad? Yeah. You guys are right. The balloon buffoon was patented on December 31st, 1991. Yeah. Cause it's, I mean, can you walk us through your, what's wrong with you and why you thought the flossy twins would make any sense? Because it is a, based on an actual thing called the bossy flossy allowed you to floss your teeth and work out at the same time. What? Yeah. When you said based on, what do you, what? That's how I came up with the idea. I want to hear more about the bossy flossy. Why don't you just do the, why don't you do the bossy flossy and the flossy twins? I was going to say, if you had done that, we would be incapable of coming to a conclusion. We would be talking for hours and hours because there would be no way to decide between the two. I really thought you guys were going to have a harder time with that one than I thought. Ryan, you're next. Yeah. I want to give you both of my names at once. Okay. Okay. The bear dogger and the hot dogger. Do you have a preference on which one we try to decipher first? No, no. That's why I give them both at once. I just decipher away. I should be on record saying, I think, I think you made the wrong move because I think after a few minutes of us debating the bear dogger to get the hot dogger would have been very funny. Oh yeah. All right. Sorry. I think the hot dogger is a mobile hot dog making thing. Like you put it in your pocket or you like hold it and it cooks hot dogs for you. It's definitely weird if it's not some kind of hot dog cooking device. I feel like he found something called the bear dogger and then decided to try to trip us off by saying a name that sounded more like a real thing. I'm trying to think what the bear dogger would be. Oh, my theory is it's for if you have a dog that poops so much, it's like a dog. It helps you get rid of the poop very quickly. That's got to be it. That because like if you've got a dog doing bear poops. Yeah. He's a bear dogger and you want to you want to deal with that. I do regret not letting you just pour through a bear dogger without the context. That was a huge mistake. Yeah. Yeah. I think we understand that it's a poop scoop and the hot dogger was an attempt to seem more plausible. So let's let's hear the answer. They are both hot dog based. So you are incorrect. Oh, yeah. You really messed this one up, Brian. You really messed this one up. The bear dogger is a device that lets you go without a bun. So it's this long. Oh, B-A-R-E dogger. Yes. Yes. That's right. And it's it's basically this little squeeze contraption on a stick and so that you can enjoy your hot dog. The hot dogger is basically like a bun dildo. So you it's it's actually a drill that lets you drill into uncut buns so that you can That sounds very sexual. So that then you can stick your hot dog in and not have to worry about the juices coming out. Again, it sounds like you're describing a sex act, but we can move past it. Curtis, what's your theory? About which one's real and which one's fake? Yeah. The hot dogger, you said it slices the bun or what does the hot dogger do again? It drills a hole into the bun. Oh, OK. This is for unsliced buns. Yeah, I think I think the hot dogger is real. I think I've seen stuff like that. I don't know if the main crew and I feel like the bear dogger like you don't need a contraption to like push like a push pop. You don't need you don't need that for a hot dog. You just put the hot dog on a stick and don't add corn batter. Not to like I don't want to influence you, but this would allow you to put toppings on a hot dog with and then still not have your hand get all greasy. Potentially. I still think it's the hot dogger is real hot dogger. I'm 180 from earlier when I was dead set. It was the bear dogger was real. Ryan, are we right? You just are dead on. It's definitely the you please Google the hot dogger looks fucking crazy. I think I've seen it. I think I like what you described sounds like a thing I would have seen on the Internet. Yeah, it definitely looks like a sex device, but like a maniacal one. Curtis, what you got? OK, one at a time, please. One at a time. Yes, yes, yes. The flizz. We all screwed up. We didn't know, guys. We didn't know. Flizz. F-L-I-Z. I'm sorry. What? I think I'll go first, Ryan, if you don't have any guesses. Why would I have a guess? I don't think he finished the word. I think a flizz is a type of sandal. It's like a fancy type of sandal that rich people. Why would Curtis know about this? Because he Googled it. Maybe his husband has it. Yeah. Your assumption that I know about anything and didn't just Google is crazy. My theory is it's a sandal. How about you? What do you think, Ryan? I mean, it's definitely not a sandal. You say definitely. Without revealing anything, I'll just say that to hear flizz and jump to sandal feels like a very impressive guess to me. That seems plausible. Oh, well, it feels like you're giving it away, but it's definitely not. It sounds like a hair product or something. That's not a bad theory. Yeah. That's not bad either. Unfrizz your hair. Whip it. I don't know. It doesn't make sense. Do you have flizz hair? My product will help you. You flared up your... I don't know. I don't like it. I don't enjoy hearing the word. It gives me the heebie-jeebies. You know how some people don't like the word moist? Like, I don't like the word flizz. I just found out. Well, a flizz... Picture a bicycle, but with no pedals and no seat. Ooh, this feels in Curtis's territory again in a way that I can't tell if it'd be real or if he's making it up. I gotta hear what the second one is. Keep listening because I'm not done. Instead of a traditional diamond-shaped frame, the frame is a tall arch. Picture maybe like a McDonald's logo, like half of a McDonald's logo. But with wheels. And you are... You don't have to describe an arch as half of a McDonald's logo. Well, I'm just trying to paint a picture, okay? We know what an arch is. You are strapped into a harness attached to the top of the arch and you use your feet to run and gain speed on this bicycle. Once you're fast enough, you can lift your feet off and you dangle from the harness as the bike glides. That is a flizz. I don't know why you would make that up. That sounds deadly. Okay, what's the next one, Curtis? Okay, next up is a yurtle. A yurtle? This is unfair because I read a lot of Dr. Seuss and Yurtle the turtle is obviously a Dr. Seuss-y character. I'm Yurtle the turtle, a marvelous me, for I am the ruler of all that I see. That could be your guess. Maybe it's a type of turtle. Why would it? It's obviously not a type of turtle. That's not an invention for the record. I spelled out flizz for you to make it clear. I will do the same for yurtle. It's Y-U-R-T-L-E. Everyone expected to spell it. Yurtle the turtle. What do you mean, Curtis? That didn't help. Isn't Yurtle the turtle with an E? No, I don't know. We don't have the book, but I'm assuming it's with a Y-U. I think this thing, this yurtle, is a type of chair that you can sit in it and it covers you from weather. It covers you from people. It's like a little tent. It's like a tent chair. What thing that ends in UL is a sitting device? I don't, well, that doesn't make sense to me. German. Oh. I don't, I can't counter that. I don't know any of the German words. All right. Brad knows a lot of German because he used to be a real big fan of Hitler. Yeah. Hates the Jews, that Brad. That makes sense. Showcannon. I would shake Hitler's hands. Yurtle. I mean, I'm glad you spelled it, I guess, because obviously you would think you're like the TP or whatever. Yeah. That's what I was, that's kind of what I was going to go with. That's where my brain went to the chair. Yeah. All right. Relax. It went right to Nazis. We get it. Relax. Relax. I don't have a good guess though. Is it just a chair? It doesn't make sense. It didn't feel right when you said it. It's like the, the flizz or whatever the hell you said that freaked me out. I think it's going to be also a device to help you get more mobile. I'm trying to think of what the hell it could possibly be though. I'm going to say it is a pogo stick with a wheel on it. I don't know. I don't know what to say guys. We have not established any kind of point giving system in this game and we haven't needed to because we've all been dead wrong about everything because it's a ridiculous, impossible game. I'm going to give you both a point because you're both half right. That makes no sense from what we said. Brad, you said a bunch of things, but you, you ultimately described it as a type of yurt or a type of tent. Ryan, you said this is like a transportation based device. What is a yurtle? It is a tent, a collapsible tent, but are you familiar with collapsible canoes? Cause that is a thing. You can collapse a canoe. It's like a tent. That's like the worst thing for a canoe. Yeah. So it's, it's the same concept of a tent. It's like, it's got poles that make tight. Oh wait, I do know what a cloud is. You can turn a canoe into like a backpack. Is that what we're talking about? Yes, exactly. So this is both. A yurtle combines the two. It's if you arrange in a configuration like a boat, you get a canoe. If you arrange the poles and the fabric like a tent, it is a one person tent. It is a convertible canoe slash tent, a yurtle. Ryan, I think this one's real. I thought yurt was spelled Y-E-R-T, which would make this not make sense, but I don't know spelling that well. And the other one did kind of feel like Curtis living in a fanciful world where he could just like jump and not die. The other thing is Curtis said this one much more confidently and he's not that good of an actor. So I'm going to go with this one. Yeah. But if the other one is real, it would be hard to describe, wouldn't it? He did go really into McDonald's arch though. Yeah. That was an unnecessary reference looking back on it. But yeah, you're right. What is it? The glitz? What don't I like to hear? Flizz. Flizz. Yeah. He made that up. Yep. Guys, I'm so proud. The flizz is real. Oh. Ugh. The reason I was so passionate about the yurtle is because I came up with it and I'm really excited about the concept. Did you check to make sure it wasn't like a real product and you just did a different name? You really did? I googled yurtle and confirmed there was no yurtle. So I guess it's possible that this exists, but I don't think it does. How many Dr. Seuss books returned? Okay. I don't know of an elegant way to end this segment other than that was a lot of fun. It was fun. It was pretty good. I do want to check, did you spell yurt wrong? Because I feel like you did. I'm not going to claim to know the spelling of yurt, but I think I googled it beforehand. You're right. If you are listening and want to throw out a fake invention or maybe it's a real invention and you want us to debate it, put it on the comments. Send an invention our way. We'll tell you if we think it's real or not. Yeah. Or if you want to try one of our made up inventions, let us know how it went. Don't try Curtis. Oh, wait, your real one was the one that sounded problematic. Don't try whatever Curt said that was real. Flizz. Yeah. Don't stop saying it. We don't. It's like Voldemort. You don't have to say the word. All right. He's going to try to kill you either way. Ryan, why don't you tell us what we can expect next week when we cover the previous episode at season nine, episode 19. Flizz. Yeah. It's called Death Trap. Throw up. I had a really hard time with this. Marty is excited to take his Ford Pinto out for a spin. That is a very specific reference. I Googled very dangerous cars. I was going to say that if that was off the dome, that is like a Brad level reference. Yeah. That is a Brad level reference. Now I'm proud of you. I went through, I had to go through things and like find one that was very clearly a car because most of the Death Trap cars do not sound like one. By the way, if it is the next episode about a Pinto, I will go off for hours on all the information I know about a Pinto. Oh boy. When I hear Death Trap, I think more like a Rube Goldberg device that's going to like end in somebody's death. When I hear Death Trap, I think a speech by Frasier. Why? Because he's so boring. What do you think a Death Trap is? Well, we'll have to watch the next episode to find out. Like if he was just given a boring speech, people would just leave. They wouldn't just stay there until they died. We'll find out. That's what the Death Trap is. I don't know. That's going to do it for us. Thanks to Gavin McLeod for our theme music and thank you for listening. I suppose you don't really care if this podcast is successful. What happens if you search for Reverse Psych Pod? Lord knows you can't be bothered to shoot us an email at reversepsychpod at gmail.com. For myself, for Ryan, and for Brad, thank me. Still, just no idea what's going on at the end of these episodes. Crutch just got him. Say hi. Hey. Hey, Courtney. What's up, bitches? Whoa. I came from a free drinking event. So, you know, it is what I mean. Nice. Love it. Boom. We love it. Was it fun? It was very, very fun. I can't tell if you're here to chat or if you're just on your way to bed. She's on her way to bed. Okay. Taking forever. Since we're waiting. I've been doing this weird thing where the back of our couch is pretty sturdy. Okay. And so I've been climbing on it and walking on it and treating it like I'm a really tall guy. Definitely sounds like you. Last night, I decided to sort of jump up onto it and back down repeatedly. And then I landed awkwardly on one of my toes. It's like, hopefully it's not broken. Hopefully it's just sore. But it's been in pain all day. Oh, Curtis. Hello. Hey. Hey, you catch that story? Are you like a weirdly small child? I mean, yeah. What do you mean you're jumping up and down on the back of your couch? How didn't you break your couch? It's real sturdy. I could break my couch by looking at it too hard. Like, what? You jump up and down on it? Our couch is actively broken. I don't know when that happened or why, but Courtney's dad hates. She gets scolded for like slamming God hard on her couch. Yeah, like plopping down on the couch. Yeah. She'd plop on the couch and her dad would freak out. I thought I didn't like WWE slam on the couch. I'm sure you do. Because of how bad you flop. No, no. You did what my dad told me wouldn't happen. Yeah, but like it's my couch. So it's fine. Also, like it's been fun. I still do it. It's still fine. I come in hot, you know? I did it. I do. Can we talk about Frasier god damnit? No
Preserved conversation context
Curtis asks which much-anticipated inventions turned out to disappoint. Brad chooses robotic dogs, remembering the promise and expense of robotic pets. Ryan chooses Google Glass and clarifies that he did not buy a pair. Curtis describes a Pinnacle computer TV tuner that only received ABC and could not schedule recordings. A robot-cat anecdote interrupts the discussion. This is a conversation about personal experiences, not a round of the later invention game.

Preserved conversation context
Brad gives A−, enjoying how three plots weave together. Curtis places it #37 of 63, below Coots and Ladders and above Door Jam, while questioning whether that makes it good or mediocre. Ryan gives 7.7/10, praising a Marty episode despite usually disliking those. The later explicit “This is a 7.7” clarifies the earlier automatic transcript’s “7-7”; it does not reopen the completed rating.
This is an episode assessment or ratings-history summary. Ratings and any accompanying Council/scale banter remain intact; the composite summary is not a separate recurring interruption or game.
