Introduces himself as “your host.”
Introduced as “our resident upside downer.” Ryan says, “Curtis, I am excited to be here.” After an opening restart, he jokes, “I'm excited that you commissioned an opening number for us. Take a seat, Kevdog.”
First introduced as “our precious rebel,” then corrected to “our precocious rebel,” Bradley Kirkston. Brad says, “I'm excited to be the only responsible one on tonight's episode.”
Welcome to Reverse Psychology, the Fraser Rewatch Podcast, where we go backwards through every episode of the show. Tonight, we are covering Season 9, Episode 14, Juvenilia, which originally aired on January 22nd, 2002. Is this when Fraser asks, how do you do, fellow kids? We'll find out. I'm your host, Curtis Schack. Joining me as always, it is our resident upside downer, it's Ryan Sansone. Curtis, I am excited to be here. I didn't realize that we got a budget, apparently, and could afford a private selection music. Oh boy. Let's try that again. Yeah, I was going to cut that out, so if you want to just not acknowledge that. I'm excited that you commissioned an opening number for us. Take a seat, Kevdog. Kevin's the guy you always thank at the end, right? I tried so hard to pump you up and get you excited for this record. It worked. It worked great. I'm so excited. And you're throwing so much confusion at me. Also with us is our precious rebel. It's Bradley. Oh, I'm sorry. I did not say that correctly. Precious rebel. Did you just call me a precious rebel? I don't know what that means. All right, let's try that again, Curtis. This is a mess right off the bat. I read what I wrote, but my brain auto-corrected. It came out wrong. Okay, let me get composed. Also with us is our precocious rebel, Bradley Kirkston. There it is. I'm excited to be the only responsible one on tonight's episode. It's going to be great. I want you to do the original reading because I think precious rebel is much better. It just invokes a lot of questions. When you think of Bradley Kirkston, you think precious and rebel. So just put them together. I think of them together. I don't think of them separate. You're not precious and you're not a rebel, but you are a precious little rebel, aren't you? Oh, man. Well, fellas, this is off to a great start.

Game / activity
Curtis tests Brad and Ryan as one team on a mixture of Gen Alpha and old-time slang. For each term they must agree on its meaning and era. Correct meaning earns two points; wrong meaning has no penalty. Correct era earns one point; wrong era loses three. Old-time slang is described as ranging from the 1800s to the 1950s. A positive final score means the team wins; a negative score means Curtis wins. Definitions are reported from the host’s Parade Magazine material, not independently verified here.
RESULT STATUS
Source-reviewed whole-game verdict. Team members share a team victory; this is not an individual tied victory. Unknown final totals remain unstated.
Within the recorded rounds · 12 recorded contributions
The team works through twelve terms. Meaning and era are separate decisions with separate adjudications. Curtis sometimes grants generous meaning credit. The owner confirmed the spoken running totals and accepts retaining them without inventing arithmetic adjustments.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
The team guesses a group of girls with nice booties, after a Cinderella/pumpkin idea. Curtis gives “a big deal” and awards no meaning points. An old-time classification is discussed, but Ryan submits Gen Alpha for the team. Curtis identifies the 1840s and deducts three points.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
Brad’s meaning is “no credibility,” with a sports/salary-cap idea also discussed. Curtis gives “truthful, not lying,” rejects the appeal for partial credit and awards zero meaning points. Gen Alpha is correct for one point.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
The team works through uselessness, disgust and “grimy,” settling on grimy. Curtis’s definition is doing a bad job. He says they veered away from the right meaning and does not grant credit. Their old-time classification is wrong; the answer is Gen Alpha. The announced running score is −5.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
After a literal bingo-help idea, the team guesses trying to steal a friend. Curtis says it means making out in a car, so the meaning is wrong. Their old-time classification is correct: the 1950s.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
The source spells F-A-N-U-M despite the earlier “Phantom” transcription. The team guesses hidden fees or a surprise tax. Curtis supplies stealing food from a friend, but generously grants two meaning points. Ryan objects, “I don’t want those points.” Gen Alpha is correct. Curtis announces a running score of −1.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
The discussion moves from uptight to charisma and someone annoyingly charismatic, with Brad used as an example. Curtis grants meaning credit generously and accepts Gen Alpha. He then reads a definition about charm between characters in the Skibidi Toilet animated series, preserved as the supplied game definition.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
After mafia/Bugsy speculation, the team submits having a wire and old-time slang. Curtis rejects the meaning—his definition is getting dressed up—but accepts the era. The owner confirms “you’re at six points, well done.”
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
The team’s proposed meaning is aunt, clarified by Brad spelling A-U-N-T, and the era is old-time. Curtis says it means being significantly more attractive than someone and is Gen Alpha: both parts are wrong. The owner confirms “you’re back at six points” and accepts that spoken total without an invented correction. The cause of the discrepancy is not established.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
The source spells Y-E-G-G. After a Jägermeister association, the team’s final guess is a bad fruit and modern slang. Both are rejected: Curtis gives burglar and the 1930s.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
Curtis says the term applies to Ryan. The team reasons from his parenthood and submits an old-time parent. Old-time is correct—the 1890s—but the meaning is a real success. An appeal that Ryan is a successful parent does not establish a changed meaning award.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
Brad initially suggests cool and an older origin, then backs away from his confidence. Ryan proposes lame or a poser and new; the team adopts his answer. Curtis gives “dang” for the meaning, so that part is wrong, but Gen Alpha is correct. The isolated “Nine” transcription is Ryan saying “annoying,” as confirmed by the owner; it is not a score. Curtis explicitly declares the team has mathematically won.
WHAT THEY BROUGHT
Asked whether they want to heighten their score, the team continues. After a waking-and-smoking suggestion, Brad suggests waking up and masturbating. Old-time is correct, specifically the 1840s. Curtis says he has already lost and grants meaning credit for the supplied definition “get into mischief.” This extends the score after the winner is already established.

So just put them together. I think of them together. I don't think of them separate. You're not precious and you're not a rebel, but you are a precious little rebel, aren't you? Oh, man. Well, fellas, this is off to a great start. We might as well jump into our planned opening discussion. So Frazier. Your transitions are on tonight, too. I know, right? Oh, this one's for the books. So in this episode, Frazier gets grilled pretty hard by some kids on the radio. My question for the two of you is whose feet would you hold to the fire if you were given such a platform and opportunity? Oh, I forgot the question. It's so good. This is a Ryan question for sure. Like this is built for you. You've got so many beefs with people that like whether they're celebrities or just people in your life. You've got beefs with them over the weirdest things. You definitely will not be able to predict this one. Do you want to take a shot? You want to guess who I'm going after? Should we save you for the end, actually? I don't know. It's hard to tell with Brad. Why don't you go first? We know you answered this poorly. Why don't you go first? Yeah, I struggled with this one because I was trying to think of who I would want to get confrontational with, like a celebrity or somebody. And I was like, I don't know that I have any beef. I don't care enough about anything to want to hold somebody's feet to the fire. Objectively not true. You're just not trying that hard when you think of these answers. Well, that's the thing. Like, if the right thing popped into my brain, I would be gung-ho for it. But just nothing was popping in my brain. Owner of Subway, Curt. Come on. Come on. I don't want to talk to that guy. What popped into my head, and what I could not get out of my head and replaced with something good, is Larry David. Who does he think he is? Okay. Go on. Because I feel like... Why aren't you funny and I'm not, Larry? What is this? Well, that's the thing. I feel like he would be sort of fun to spar with. I don't think so. He would be very good at arguing and very serious about it, but it would still be funny. I don't find that funny at all. There would still be, like, enjoyable interaction. I like that you think it would be a spar. He would wipe the floor with you. What are you talking about? Fucking asshole. Oh, he would destroy me, for sure. It's not what sparring is. This is very clear that me and Ryan are much better at this game than you are, and we haven't even gone yet. Oh, yeah. I mean, you're better at all of the games than me, but that's fine. Sometimes Brad takes the night off. I can go next because my answer, Ryan, is either going to 100% agree with me or 100% disagree with me, so I'm very curious to see how this goes. Usually when Curt does really bad at something, I then tend to just agree with you, just to move things along. So I'm going to... I think I'm all in. Well, I think he will be because it's an obvious one. So mine is a sportscaster, and he wasn't a quarterback, but just as a sportscaster, Tony Romo. He is a horrific sportscaster, so I would love to grill him and tell him how terrible he is at being a commentator for sports. Oh, you were so close. Like, Brady would be fun to do that because he's bad. I like Brady. I think Brady's pretty good compared to Tony Romo. I think Tony Romo is so stupid. Yeah, but that's like... Romo was really good when he first came out of the NFL and did broadcasting. Now he just doesn't give a fuck, so it would not be an interesting grilling. He's just like, oh, yeah, whatever. I think he does care. I think he thinks he's doing a good job. He does not. Are we still talking about sportscasters? Sportscasters? We're talking about talking. Yeah. Okay. Ryan, what's your answer? I want to grill the last one to five CEOs of Bed Bath & Beyond. Okay. I'm baffled. Go please elaborate. I am also baffled. How did they screw that up? It was like the only store that was still like kind of fun to go into, right? Like you walk in, you're like, I'm going to spend no more than 30 minutes in this store, but like it's something to do like while you're between things. They didn't screw it up. You can buy anything at Bed Bath & Beyond so much easier online. It's not about buying the stuff, Brad. It's about having a place to go like walk around, but just for a very short amount of time. Like, yeah, maybe I would buy stuff every once in a while, but not often. It was for the strolling. Your complaint is that the people in charge of a business drove that business into the ground and the business that you thought was thriving was a place to walk around and not buy things? Yeah. How did they screw that up? It was like the old key. Is there any other store like that? I mean, all of them, all of them you can wander through. No, but that's not the same thing, right? Like it's shaped like a circle for some reason. You go through, you're like, oh, maybe I'll buy some today. And then you realize it's all shit and then you don't buy it. But like you can have fun. You know, maybe you're with like your significant other. You guys are like having pants about the stuff. It's a good time. I miss it. Okay. The closest to that, I think honest to God might be Aldi because they have that one aisle of weird stuff and it's kind of a little bit of a pathway. Yeah, can Aldi put that around the outside? Just have the bullshit aisle like so you can loop around and then leave? That would be great. That's a good idea, Curt. I think that's the best thing you've ever said on this podcast. I appreciate that. I also am going to be honest with you. I feel like I'm really disappointed. I thought you were going to have some real fun beefs with actual celebrities or something. You came at me with I want a place to walk. I miss having a place to stroll. It's not walking. It's not a walk, Curt. Like we're stopping every couple of feet. It's a stroll. I miss it. Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss Frazier. Should we get into this week's episode? I think that's a great idea. We open with a light on top of the space needle. Kenny wants Frazier to go on teen scene radio because he needs a younger demo. I like that we start the episode with Kenny getting a no before we know what he wants. I think that's good. What did you think he was going to ask? You know, he's going to ask something insane. Like, and that's why Frazier was going to say no, because he knew it was going to be something insane that he would just not do. I think last time he asked Frazier for something, it was for him to go on a date with his cousin. So like this was not in the cards. I didn't think it was going to be work related. Yeah, that's that's very true. OK, I don't know that I was going to expect it to be insane. And by the way, it wasn't insane. It was literally just you need to go on some media to like promote your show. Like that's such a normal thing for a person with a radio show to have to do. I don't know if it's so normal to ask a 40 or 50 year old man to go on a teen radio talk show. And it's a 40 to 50 year old man who's doing psychology. Yeah, it doesn't. It doesn't fit. It doesn't jive. No, I don't know why team dream would want it. Teens. What is it? Teen screen. Teen scene. Sorry. I don't know why teen scene would want Frasier and I don't know why the station thinks Frasier going there would help. And then he started to pull up marketing information, which was really interesting. This is funny. Yeah. Were you surprised that they thought Roz was a man? I did like that. No. I did like that. The average listener is an older gentleman who listens to the radio for company. I did like that one. I mean, of course, that's the answer. That's probably the answer for Gil's show, too, though. I don't know. The fact that they said it's for women. I can't wait to find out what that show is. Oh, yeah. You don't even know what going was. Yeah. Not a clue. Not a clue. But I know that that marketing information is not correct. Teen scene is a confusing bit because this is the 2000s, right? This was the 80s. Maybe teen scene makes sense. But like, why the hell is there a teen based radio show in the 2000s? The three of us were actually teenagers when this came out. I did not listen to any radio, especially a teenage radio show back then. So never, never once. I don't know if Curtis did. Oh, Curt listened to NPR because he's, you know, he would never have listened to something about teens, though. That I can confirm. Yeah. No, I was listening to the psychiatrist who gave advice. You know, just for company. The teen scene thing, I feel like it seems like some kind of a, I think they even say it's sort of a nonprofit thing. Like, it's just like a public service. Yeah. Yeah. Which clarified nothing for why it would exist. You don't do public services just, just cause. Like, it has to have a point and a purpose. And this doesn't. And then it was hard. We'll get into what it is. But just from the jump, it doesn't make sense. Yeah. No, it's a premise that is as thin as can be. Yes, it is. I enjoyed the reveal that Frater wasn't speaking to the people he thought he was, though. I thought that was about the only good to come out of this, this bit. You mean when the lady comes up for the autograph? No. I forgot about that. What are you talking about? When he's getting the marketing stuff told to him and he finds out he's not. Oh, oh, yes. That was nice. Kenny was a little too competent, though, in this scene. Didn't we all feel that? Kenny? Yeah. He was actually doing his job. Yeah. It was, it was definitely, it was very off-putting. Didn't love it. We got that with the Spokane bit, too. I'm not for it. We don't need Kenny to have any skills whatsoever. But so we get to the end of this scene and the woman comes up and he thinks, oh, I've got a fan. It's this young woman. Can I get your autograph? What's your name? Lucy. But make it out to Paul. I volunteered as hospice and I think you're just about the only friend he has left anymore. That was so great. Oh, I thought it was a very obvious joke. Well, it was. As soon as she came up, I didn't know hospice was going to be in motion. That's my point. Yeah. I thought she would say like my dad or something like that, but she took it one step farther. I think it's a classic Frasier joke and it works because of the specificity. Yeah. We get a title card. Niles gets his daily dose of spinach. Niles gifts Daphne the same earrings he gave her last summer. Marty got a makeout sash at the office Christmas party, but hopes the woman doesn't call, wanting all that relationship stuff. I know it's his character, but Niles goes to the, I disinfected these way too early. Like as he's handing her the earrings, he's like, they've already been disinfected. Why would you even say that? So she can put them on. If she was giving him something and said that, sure, that would make sense for everyone. Him saying it to her immediately, annoying. I think it makes him feel better even just saying it out loud. That's why. That's what I took it as. If you're saying it makes Niles annoying, I agree with you. If you're saying that it is nonsense that he would say it, I disagree. No, no, I'm not saying it's nonsense that Niles, the character, would say it. I'm just saying, Niles, take it down 10. The thing is, what's so consistent about this is for his character, he is lavishing her with gifts, but he's not, like it's a gift he's already gotten her. He's not really paying attention to her at all. This is interesting that he got the same pair. That doesn't really jive with the Niles character in Mad. He's the attention to detail guy, I think. I mean, yes, but I wonder if she doesn't like them. Like, I wonder if she got the gift, she never wears them. She was wearing them in the scene. Oh, you're right. Yeah. Never mind. That part, like he ignores what she's into. I think that could fit with him again. We've sort of gone back and forth with that a little bit. But yeah, I don't know. This doesn't feel Niles-y. No. I'm surprised he doesn't have like a list of every gift he gave her. What's funny is we're describing a somewhat out of character Niles moment, which is all just a launching pad for Niles to be out of character for the rest of the episode. We'll get to that. But yeah, no, you're right. It sets it off. It's a weird setup, but thankfully there is some, there's a goal in mind at least. Daphne just offers to get something else pierced, which is like some weird sexual tension in that scene. But it did make Niles very happy. It made him interested, which I don't know. For someone so nervous about infection, I don't know. Where do you think she's going to get pierced? Probably the elbow. Oh, going right for the sexy stuff, Curt. We jump into the Marty stuff next. Your favorite? Okay, this fucking run we're on. What? Are we really making this guy the ultimate player? The ultimate old man player? What is this? What are we doing? It is a lot of Marty dating. I was not expecting that. Back to back? Hold on. What do you mean by the ultimate player? Back to back episodes, he makes out with random girls. And in this one, he's like, you know, Daphne starts quizzing him. He's like, yeah, I always bring it. Like, I'm Marty. And don't forget, we're only like four or five episodes away from the Winston episodes. Winston's mom's episodes. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. I'm on Team Ryan. This is all season. Hold on. Back to back episodes making out with somebody. You're talking about the woman on the boat in the last episode. Yeah, I was going to say, is this the same person? It's the same woman. Okay. That helps a little bit. And it's the same instance. She's referencing the same Christmas party where they made out in the boat as he's referencing here. He was on a date in the last episode. Yeah, that's true with Garty. Yeah, he's just on a hot streak. I mean, there's at least three girls that want him in the season, which is way too many. We're only halfway. This is crazy. I get what you're saying. I do. But it does feel weird to be calling him a player when the instances we're talking about are one where he never got to do anything with a woman, with Korra. We never got to do anything. They made out, Curt. Okay, but he pretends to be impotent to get away from Daphne's mom. And then in this episode, he is trying to pretend like he's a player who doesn't care, but he's actually really lonely and sad and kind of desperate and bad at flirting. To defend my friend Ryan, Ryan never said he was a good player. He just said he was a player. True. No, actually, that does help, though, Curt. I like the sand spin you put on it. Like, I know he's waiting for the call because he's desperate old and weird, but like, I don't know, that's not the vibe he was trying to give to Daphne, and I was kind of buying it at this point. He's got girls lined up. I see. Well, I guess, yeah, you're living in this scene, so. Yeah. Was it the same girl, though? Yeah, it was. Clearly. It makes the next episode make less sense, I think. Normally, Ryan, I would probably be a little bit more uncertain like you, but because of the scheduling of our records, I watch these basically back to back, and it's definitely the same woman. Yeah. Well, as you know, I couldn't be that. I had to give it some time. Right, right, right. But this back-to-back, like, continuing storyline of Peg is kind of wild that this show would pick up the same character and the same story two episodes in a row and not just, like, let it lie for three episodes and then finally get back to it. Curtis, what could be crazy is this actually could be three episodes in a row. Like, the episode before this could be the... Oh, wait, we haven't seen the Christmas party. Yeah, we haven't seen the Christmas party, so it could be three in a row. Oh, wow. This girl's going on a run, huh? What I was going to say is all the things that she mentioned that he did in the last episode we watched, none of it happened here. I was thinking, oh, we're going to see Marty, like, drive to her house or whatever she said, and that never happened. That's one of the reasons I thought this might not be the same person. And that's fair. It definitely was the same person, but it is weird that they, like, said things that he did in a future episode that we never actually saw. Not to jump ahead, but at the end of this episode, they're not going to get together or anything, but she kind of implies, I just want to be friends. But he clearly picks up some kind of flirting from her, so I could see between this episode and the next episode, he's been stalking her. Look at you defending Frasier writing. Love it. It also kind of helps. Helps jive with my image of Marty. Yeah. You're so nervous that you're going to start to like him. No, I'm nervous that, like, every episode he's going to be making out with another lady. It's going to be, like, what is this? We're going to do a whole season of Marty Gates, like, every episode. I don't know. Out of control. At the coffee shop, we get a tale of two teams. Kirby, the lazy doofus who skips out of his work as a gopher at KACL, and Emily, the bright host of Teen Scene who lavishes Frasier with adoration. Meanwhile, Roz encourages Niles to be spontaneous and dangerous. So you guys can't comment, but I hope Kirby's one and done. I hope we don't get him in other episodes. Well, based on this episode, do you think Kirby's one and done? You had a real familiarity with him when we ran into Kirby, or when Kirby ran into Frasier, I guess. He should be in another episode from the way it was written, but the way he's flaky enough, like, hopefully, hopefully we don't have to bother with that. Again, there is nothing we can say about that. He was on Cheers for two seasons. I'm just kidding. In the scene when Kenny is trying to get Frasier to go talk to the girl from Teen Scene, and Frasier does this kind of annoying thing he likes to do where he basically needs to just be pumped up and his ego boosted about how much this, you know, young woman must really love him and his work. And I love the way Roz is just like, Do we have to go through this every time? Go over there. I did like that. The Roz Pepto. I did like it, but I think she's calling out how stale the show has become. Not the radio show, but Frasier the show. So I have concerns. That is a really interesting point. Yeah, but she's not just mocking Frasier, but in fact, mocking the show Frasier. Yeah. I think we're going to get a lot of that. Probably here in the coffee shop. It's a very meta joke, but it works. I hope it isn't. The thing I did like was that we have Roz and Niles as characters locked in. This is the Roz I like. This is the Niles I like. Mix it up a little. Do something crazy. I mean, totally out there. Are you talking about scarves? Yes, but the only thing I will say is like Roz trying to get Niles to be spontaneous. Like she knows Niles. Does Niles seem like a spontaneous guy? No, that's the whole point. This whole episode is a great example of Niles being that spontaneity. Because she gives him one very specific example to illustrate the point of be spontaneous and dangerous. And he just tries to redo exactly that. Like he has no capacity to be imaginative about doing, you know, spontaneous or dangerous things. He can just do what was told to him. Yeah, that was very well written. And he has to mull over the whole thing while he's getting an herbal rap. Again, we're locked into the Niles I like. Yeah, I mean, it is very Niles. It is a lot of fun. It's about to get more fun. And I think Roz is, is Roz in the rest of the episode? I don't know that she is. She should be. There's plenty of opportunity for her to be. She was in two of the first three scenes and then none of the rest. That is an excellent point, actually. Because I do think we've talked about her a lot. But it is kind of a damn shame that Perry Gulpin as Roz gets so little to do throughout the seasons. Like she is such a great character and a really good comedic actress. And she is so often just delivering exposition or there to set something up. It's almost always the setup. Or just gets like a nothing scene just to shoehorn her into the episode. Like we could focus a lot more on her and it would be worthwhile. She could be egging the house on the whole time that leads him to the decision he makes. And then, well, it's not what we're doing. Or she could be at the radio station. That would also make a lot of sense. But nope. Perfect point. Like I know Fraser is usually in the A story. But what if the A story was this Niles story? And he's trying to come up with ways to be spontaneous with Daphne. And he's so bad at it that he has to keep coming to the coffee shop and interrogating Roz. Like what should I do next? He has to be spontaneous through Roz. Oh, that would have been great. I mean this is a more Niles-centric season so far. Yeah. I forget it. Even like of course because of the wedding. But like I think more than half of the episodes have been a Niles episode. There's been a lot of Niles so far. That is true. Could have been here too. Marty hasn't been called by Peg and can't hide his disappointment. Marty doesn't want to support his son. Not surprising. I thought you were going to miss Dr. Crane on the radio. How many times a day is that guy on? That was great. It was so very Marty being terrible dad. It looks cool. He only puts you up in his apartment. But whatever, Marty. God forbid you watch, you know, 12 minutes of teen scene. Listen, he has what to watch. Oh yeah. Yeah, right. He's talking to Daphne. I think this is where he says he gave her the full treatment. But earlier he said that they made out. And we know in the next episode she's going to find out he's impotent. So presumably she never experienced more than just making out. So I'm trying to understand. He's talking about like the way he's describing what he gave to her. The full treatment. It sounds like he slept with her. But we know that he didn't. So I'm just very confused by this dialogue. Brad, do you want to explain to Curt what the full treatment is? For an old man or just in general? Just whatever you think. For you, which is an old man? Yeah. A kiss, a handshake, and a pat on the head. Well, I can't imagine why she ain't calling. Let's pretend that is what it is. The knowing, nodding look he gives to Daphne. And all it was was a kiss, a handshake, and a pat on the head? Yes. Honestly, it fits. That works perfectly for Marty. Yeah. You know, he's from like the Dust Bowl era. I feel like he's from the Dust Bowl era. He's from the Dust Bowl era. Like, you know, showing a woman a good time is driving around and ordering for her and stuff. I don't think he was saying he scored by any means. Didn't we find out in an episode he was in the military in Korea? Yes. Did we? Yeah. What? Yeah. I like the idea of Ryan thinking he was in the Dust Bowl. Is Korean War the Dust Bowl era? Well, I mean, you don't know how young he was in the Korean War, which again, I don't think was said. It was. He answers the phone with an enthusiastic hola. Hola. Did you know what this was a reference to? Just him trying to be fancy, I guess. I don't know. Him giving her the full treatment, Curt. Yeah. That is what I thought. I thought it was just him giving her the treatment. But I somehow stumbled upon, apparently, this was a imitation of Al Pacino from Scent of a Woman. Okay. Hola. Hola. I've never even heard of that movie. Really? Have you? I've never seen it. I've heard of it. Yeah, definitely. It's like a classic movie. You can't say definitely in that none of us have seen it. What are you talking about? Well, we're not cultured. I've never heard anyone talk about this movie. I've heard of a lot of movies I've never seen. Goodfellas. I've never seen Goodfellas, but I'm aware of it. You've never seen Goodfellas? Oh, Goodfellas. Exactly. You should watch Goodfellas. So they say. Yeah, but this was great. I mean, him just being clearly devastated while staring. Is this where he stares at the phone all sad? Yeah. Yeah. Best scene of the whole show so far. Well, okay. Andy, the teen scene adult moderator, is a depressed smoker. We find out why when the enthusiastic teens got you the shit out of Frasier live on the air. Brad, do we recognize that guy? The producer? I did not recognize him. No. You ask that of Brad like you're an old married couple. Well, no. I know Brad looked that up because that's his job. I recognize the voice. The voice, yes. When he does the radio voice, that sounded familiar. I did not recall him at all. What did you think of Andy? I thought he was a cool guy. I liked that he was just smoking in there. Did you like how very clearly sad he was before we met? The teens, like destroyed as a human being, but yes. Oh, yeah. He was dead inside. Yeah. And we come very quickly to find out why. Yeah, because the teens are meanies. I don't know if I fully got this because we see the grilling Frasier gets. So I get why Frasier is in the hot seat. But is the moderator also getting guff from these teens? Like, is he getting the same treatment? Yeah, there was a couple of times he would say something and they would go, we didn't ask you to start the show. Like, they weren't nice to him. Yeah, what are you talking about? Yeah. Yeah. Did you think that they were being polite to him? Well, I didn't think they were being polite to him. I just thought that like. They fucking stomped on him. Yeah. Every time he said something. There's a difference, I guess, in my mind between teens dismissing you and teens like calling out your shit. But I guess he's probably had his shit called out enough to the point where he doesn't fight back and he just is submissive to them. Yeah, it wasn't dismissing them. It was it was silencing him, which is not the normal way that you interact with the team. Especially when you're supposed to be the moderator. Yeah. No, yeah. He got he got whipped in front of Frasier. And then we start to dive into Frasier's actual show. This is the first time we got insight into the radio show Frasier does and some of his life. We'll get into that, too. But I love I love the bit. My research shows that your replies are typically less than five minutes long. Doesn't seem like a lot of time for substantive psychological advice, which from everything we've seen, that seems long. I was a little bit surprised by that because, yes, we don't get long snippets of his actual calls. But I think they said at one point he does like three hours a day. Yeah, he does about three minutes of reply and then he does about 30 minutes of, you know, him talking about himself. Oh, I see. That makes more sense. I was doing the math here. I was like, he doesn't take 36 calls an episode. That can't be right. No one is saying that. No one is saying that. Fair enough. So do you guys miss your years being twixt 12 and 20? I do not, personally. No. No, I do not. Not even a little bit. The difficult years, they are. We can't really call it sleuthin', but it sounds like at the top of the show, Frasier, unless this is a Cheers thing, threatens to jump for two hours on a ledge. That was interesting. 100% a Cheers thing. Yeah, 100% a Cheers thing. The years are like close, right? Because it's like about when Frasier starts, isn't it? Right. I think you got to go back and rewatch of Cheers. Isn't it 93 is when they say it happens? Yes. Go back and rewatch of Cheers. Whatever, man. I don't have to do that. There's no way they say it happens in 93. February 9th, 1993. Does that date mean anything to you? They did say that, but I don't think that was accurate, actually. They did say that. I did not pay attention to the year they gave, but didn't he do that over Diane? He did. I'm gonna jump, fellas! You go back and pay attention to Cheers, Brad. They did say in this episode 93, but the teens were wrong, and the writers of Frasier are terrible. Take it easy, Mr. Snappy. I'm choosing to believe that we see this in season one, because that should be season one. It would be, but it did happen. You're both right, and I'm perfect. So I think you're giving me a spoiler. Okay, you keep watching. First episode should be him two hours on a ledge. Is it time for commercial? Uh, okay, sure. Let's take a... No, this is... Curt, read the script. Yeah, Curtis, man, you're just dropping the ball tonight. I don't think Curt watches this episode. I think he's going off memory. He's reading the script now. Ooh, tough blow! Miles tries to steal a Daphne street sign. He is swiftly caught by police, despite having the most impressive lookout of all time, Eddie. I'm not sure. Why he got arrested. Wait, time out. Did you say Eddie was there? Oh my god, Ryan. Eddie was the guard dog with him the whole time. Not a bit. Didn't see him at all. Come on. You didn't see him barking? No. I don't know what you're talking about. Oh my god. I'm the only one that watched the episode. See, I always forget about Daddy Do or Daddy Don't. And I don't think about it until I see an episode with Eddie in it. And I'm like, well, I can't do it for this episode because if I only bring it out when the dog is there, it won't work. But he's like, he's so prevalent in this scene. Yeah. He's literally part of the storyline. Didn't see him at all. At one point, he gets the ladder out and then Eddie barks and he puts the ladder back. I remember the ladder. You don't remember someone barking? You just thought he randomly put the ladder back? Maybe it was ambient music, Brad. I don't know. He's also using Eddie as cover. Like when people are walking by, he grabs Eddie and has him pretend to pee on the pole. Oh, that did happen. I did see the dog. I can see dog's cards. You should have mentioned that he was peeing sooner. How did he set up a ladder behind some bushes? That was interesting. It was interesting that they were hidden already. Well, the part that was crazy, it's not like random bushes. I think that was someone's house. It was absolutely someone's house. Yeah. I'm not bothered by that part. It's just weird to stash them so that you can pretend your dog's peeing, I guess. And then to pull it out, like pulling out the ladder is going to be the most suspicious thing you could do. Now, you said at the top of this that you don't know why he was arrested. Go ahead and elaborate on that for me. Well, he didn't break any laws. Yes, he did. He was just dangling from a street sign. That's not illegal. No, he was attempting to take down a street sign. No, he wasn't. Yes, he was. He was just hanging from a street sign. No, he had a wrench. That's not taking off a street sign. He was attempting to. You can't say there was intent to. At no point was he trying to. He was just dangling in the air. That's not something you're going to get arrested for. They have to wait till they see him try to unscrew it. And then they're like, OK, what are you doing? I think that's a patently absurd argument. Yes. Thank you, Curtis. You can go hang from street signs. I don't think that's even true. That part, I'm less sure. Maybe that's why he got arrested. He certainly didn't get arrested for intent to take down the street sign. You know what probably happened? He probably either didn't tell Marty or or Marty forgot that he was taking Eddie and he put an APB out for Eddie and they're actually arresting him for having stolen a dog. For dog theft. I love that. That theory falls apart because there would have to be a dog in the scene. And I don't think there was one. He was peeing, Curt. I know what happened. Brad, since you remember Eddie, I just want to know, did you agree with me on this? I feel like Eddie does some of his best tricks in this episode, like his most impressive following what is asked of him. I think this is the first time we've actually seen just Niles and Eddie and he seems to behave way better for Niles than anyone else. So maybe it's the Niles of it all. I don't know what to do with that. I got nothing there. Marty makes a special trip into work to chat with Peg. She really doesn't want his dick. That's not true. That's not what the scene was. She just doesn't want him to make a big thing of it. She wants to have her ham and not eat her spinach. Is that the angle? Yeah. She's doing the Marty thing. Well, I know she's doing the Marty thing, but I guess I was confused by it. And this is probably why I struggle in social settings. Yeah. It seemed like she was being a little flirty, but also being objectively clear. Like, I do not want to date you. We just are friends. That is it. Like she was being completely flat about it, but then would like be like, but I hope I see you around. Yeah. She doesn't want to date him because he's old and weird, but she doesn't mind hooking up with him because she's also weird. I don't know. I don't know that part. She just wants a hookup friends with benefits, Curt. Okay. Again, terrible choice. Don't understand it, but that's what she wants. She wants what he wants. Okay. Well, I guess that does track because I was, I was a little bit thrown off because in the next episode on the boat, we do see that once again, she was being pressured by her friend to go talk to him. Like it wasn't from her that she wanted to go talk to him. She was being pushed to. And that's the part that makes no sense. Why did the friend be like, oh, he's, he's a hot piece. Like he's 85 years old. What's wrong with, what's wrong with everyone? Sure. But the part that is starting to make more sense now is when she overhears he can't have sex. Like it was, it was not surprising that she turned around at that moment, but if she's only interested in a physical relationship, it makes even more sense that she completely bails half to bat. Yeah. She wants friends with benefits, not friends with benefit. Frazier continues to flounder until the moderator calls a news break. Kirby swoops in to feed Frazier intel on the three hosts, which he doles out to embarrass them until they start to play nice. We open the scene with him defending his use of lab animals. Is that a cheers thing also? Because I don't understand what the hell's going on now. Why would he be doing anything with lab animals? And is it that bad to put sunglasses on monkeys? Well, to be clear, there have been psychological experiments done to monkeys. Why would Frazier be a part of those? Yeah. I think Ryan's saying, why would you ask Frazier to do that? Well, I don't know that anybody asked Frazier to do it. They say very clearly in the scene that he was assisting his now ex-wife, Lilith. That's true. I love it by saying that. You didn't question why was Lilith. That makes sense for Lilith to do it. Lilith's trying to figure out how to be cool. So she went to monkeys. That makes tons of sense. I do enjoy when he tries desperately to like relate to them and connect with them and says that the way they're behaving is completely in line with their age. And they just cold hearted pull out his tax return. I liked the team panel. I thought that the way they were going, Frazier was great. I just don't get what we're doing in this episode. Why is Frazier besting some kids? What is this episode? So what did you think of Kirby being the hero? I don't get it. I don't have any attachment to him. Hopefully I also won't from the, you know, from future episodes. But okay, so Kirby gets a win because he was a loser in high school. Is that what we're doing here? Because it's really Frazier getting the win. And it's very annoying. This is Kirby's send off. This is the last time Kirby's in the show. Hopefully the first. But the way they set it up, they make it seem like Frazier doesn't really like Kirby until this moment. And now they've, they've sort of bonded. So you would almost expect Kirby to be in the show more after that. Right. They go have their pizza and then maybe Frazier kills him. I don't know. The one thing this is telling me is I will not see Kirby in season two of new Frazier. You know that we edit out all of her thoughts about new Frazier. Oh, I had no idea. Yeah, if he is, I don't remember. We got the cancellation. I flushed all that info. All right. So this dirt that Kirby is giving Frazier, did you find it particularly compelling? I get why teens would be embarrassed by these things. I think it's more that those three were embarrassed by those three things. I thought it worked. They got the best information to destroy these three teens. You have to remember their teens. Like they don't have a ton of confidence or, you know, things to stand on. Right. Like you, your confidence crumbles as a teen quickly. Some of our confidence crumbles as adults that have been in the world for a while. They don't have much of that. You can best a teen in a lot of ways very easily, especially if you're a psychologist and you have dirt on them. I get all of that. And I think it's correct. I just feel like it could have had a little bit more of a bite. What? He's already fighting teenagers. If it was something devastating, you'd just be like, dude, Frazier, what the fuck? These are kids trying to graduate high school. Like what's wrong with you? See, I think that would have been funny. I already felt like it wasn't good. He's 50. Why is he going after these kids? Just take an L. Like it's fine. I guess that's true. But he can't. He can't not win. And that's not a good look. We shouldn't be rewarding that in this episode. It's so fucking weird. And Curtis is like, what if we made it way fucking worse and these kids could never show their face in this town again? Maybe it's because I'm not a teen and I cannot relate to teens. And you never were. You never were a teen. Of course I was never a teen. So I just like these things seemed so banal that I had a hard time imagining anybody really being that worked up about it. Well, they were talking about being in relationships in high school, which, you know, none of us can relate to. So it went right over your head. Frazier plays this out with Daphne opening her latest present from Niles, his framed mugshot. This is good. I've no notes here. I actually really like this whole thing. I said it, I think, in the last episode, but I think we're on a streak. Season nine is doing a decent scrambled eggs game. Yep. One of the best parts of the episode, if not the best. I think it might have been the best scrambled egg scene, too. Oh, I don't know if I'd go that far, but I thought it was good. What do you have ahead of it? I don't remember. Oh, okay. You wouldn't go to that part because of memory. All right. I just feel in my bones that there were ones I enjoyed more, but no, I couldn't tell you what any of them are. Brad, can you tell us what you thought about this episode, though? Yes. It's not going to be high. I'm sorry. Why did you age 20 years to do your age? This episode wasn't great. It was weird. It was really, really weird. It was kind of unnecessary. It had a couple of funny bits, like Niles, of course, brought the humor like he usually does. I'm going to give this a C+. It wasn't great. I just, I didn't really love it. Curtis, what are you thinking? I think we're in pretty close agreement. I ranked this 55 out of 69. Yeah. So fairly low on the overall ranking. It was better than the finale part one where they had that boring rushed wedding, but worse than Blind Date from New Frasier with June Diane Raphael. Oh, Curt. That's a good episode. Right? The finale's tough. You know, as I was watching it, I enjoyed it. Like, as I thought about it at the end, I was like reflecting. I had it like kind of higher up and then it's like, eh, I guess it wasn't that good, was it? It was, there wasn't a big splash moment. The plot made almost no sense if you thought about it. It didn't feel like that while watching the episode, but when you take a second and think about it, it's like, eh, I don't know. I don't know if any of this is that good, but I think it was better than most of the episodes this season. So I gave it a 5.9, which probably is still a little high. I think that's fair, though. If you would have gone in the sixes, like the mid-sixes, I would have been concerned, but I think that's fair. We get a lot of good from Niles. Frasier, I don't know, he's still not good. Why does Frasier come out on top at the end? I think that really hurts. Yeah, I think it's an interesting territory when you get into sort of the mediocre episodes that aren't super bad or super good. Depending on your taste, you might rank it complete middle of the pack, low end of the pack, high end of the pack. Like, it can kind of fall anywhere. It was mediocre, but it was good mediocre compared to the start of this season. It was still better than that stretch of episodes. Yeah, exactly. At the beginning, that was just like, we were getting nervous. Right. And the fact that we're celebrating this one is maybe disappointing, actually. Yeah, that's true. In this episode, Frasier finds himself frustrated by youths. But how in touch are we with today's teen scene? I've collected a bunch of slang from Gen Alpha, but it will be mixed with old, tiny slang from yesteryear. It's a game we're calling Slang Gang. Is this why you had trouble speaking all day? Because you've got this weird mix of teen and very old slang. Yeah, yeah, I'm a mess. What's the name of this segment? Unless you've got a better pitch. It's Slang Gang. Or Slang. I think you said Blang. I thought you said Bling Gang. Yeah, you definitely said it with a B. It's like, is this a slang we don't know? Is this going to be part of the game? Sippalant, Sippalant, Slang Gang. Much better. So how this is going to work. First, I'm going to give you a slang term. And you two are going to decide, you're going to be a teen. You're going to decide what the meaning is of that word. If you get it right, you will get two points. If you get it wrong, there is no penalty. I don't like that you got a two-point system. This is confusing to start. Well, next, you have to tell me whether it is from Gen Alpha or old, tiny slang. If you get that right, you win one point. But if you get that wrong, you lose three points. Oh, goodness gracious, Curtis. I'm actually all on board. I actually really like that system. All right, so if at the end of this you have a positive score, you win. If it's negative, I will carry the day. You ready? Yeah, we're ready. Let's do some blind gang. Some pumpkins. When are you going to do the slang, Curtis? Those are both words we know. Some pumpkins, Ryan. Pumpkins. What do you think? Pumpkins. I think it means- Some pumpkins. What? Some pumpkins. Some pumpkins. Yeah. Yeah. I bet you just said pumpkins. Are you allowed to spell it or are you not spelling? I'll spell it, sure. S-O-M-E space P-U-M-P-K-I-N-S. Okay. There's not like a fun random Z at the end or something. No, no. I'm not worried about that. Maybe some could have been like S-U-M or something. Oh, sure. Could be. So what do you think it is, Ryan? Because I have a guess. Oh, is that what we have to do? Oh, dear. You have to tell me what the meaning is. Yes. I have a guess as well. Yeah? I think it's a Cinderella reference. Like people turn into pumpkins after midnight. I was going with a different definition because you said some pumpkins. I'm thinking like a group of girls that have nice booties. Oh. Actually, I like yours better. Yeah. I think we should go with that one. What I just said. We would like to go with the booties, Curt. Well, I'm sure in some context that might work, but the actual meaning is a big deal. So no points awarded. You are- I'm sure we're doing some pumpkins. I think you jumped ahead. Ryan, do you think it's modern or do you think it's old timey? I want to say Gen Alpha. Who is it? Gen Z versus Gen Alpha? Gen Alpha versus old timey. Okay. Do they probably have a name? Can you figure out the generation name, Curt? While we mull over this? I think, is it not Gen Alpha? Oh, yeah. No, the old timey. Old timey is what Ryan's asking for. Oh, I'm sorry. So there is not a single generation that I'm pulling these from. Oh, okay. The old timey ranges from the 1800s up to the 1950s. I think it's old timey, Ryan. Why do you think it's old timey? I want to hear the reasoning. Even modern phrases at least relate a little bit. This related nothing. Some pumpkins meaning a big deal. I feel like there's that Gen Alpha, like just rando card move that they might pull. But couldn't you see somebody in like the 1920s smoking their cigar and be like, hey, look at that. Some pumpkin. No, I can't imagine that's how the phrase was used. I don't think you used it right. I think it'd be more like you got into the college you wanted and I'm out of some pumpkins. I don't like the way Curt said that. You made that sound old timey. And I don't think that's what this is. Ryan, you let me take the first part so you can guess this part. Whatever you go with. Oh, yeah. I think this is Gen Alpha just because of Curt's shitty example. Got it. Negative three points. 1840s. Okay. We're doing great. Did you get what it means? No, he told us what it meant. A big deal. Oh, right. I hope I have not caused you vexation or any unpleasant cogitations. No cap. Oh, I know this one. Yeah. This one's Gen. Oh, I don't know what it means, though. I know it's Alpha. Yeah, it's definitely Gen Alpha. I'm going to. I think it means. I don't understand. I actually have a question. I've seen it in the social media. I don't know what the fuck that means. I thought no cap means no credibility. Like, oh, they got no cap. They can't defend what they're saying. Why would it mean that? Do you have something else to beat me on? My best guess is it's sports and they've got no money. I don't think it's sports. I don't think it's money. All right. We're going with Brad again. Yeah. You are so close yet so far away. It was truthful, not lying. I'm pretty close. I'm pretty. I feel like I should get one point. Yeah. We'd like one point, Curt. Yeah. Which means that we won. Can we get zero for that? I feel like that is right on the line. You will get a point because it is Gen Alpha. I forgot about that part. I can award no points for getting the opposite of the meaning. I apologize. That's just that game's work. Right. Keep going, Curtis. For the record, if it was just cap by itself, that would be lying. Oh, right. Because instead of no cap, it would be cap. Yeah. I'm so confused at what the hell cap is now. I'm more confused. No cap. Next up, dog water. Oh, God. That feels old-timey to me, Ryan. What about you? I mean, dog water is a thing now, right? Like your dog, you drink out of the dog bowl or something. I don't know if this is helpful or not. Answer the meaning first, and I will tell you whether that's true or false, and then you can decide whether it is Gen Alpha or old-timey. I think it's helpful to talk about them both at the same time, but- Yeah, don't tell us how to talk, Curt. Fuck off. All right. No cap, Curt. Because you're definitely, the explanation would not have helped me and Ryan at all decide. Because this is something that could have existed in both eras. Yeah. I think dog bowls weren't invented until like, you know, the 70s or some crap. That can't be right. Let's just go with that. What do we think it means, though? Like if you're dog, if you, oh my God, what does this mean? Maybe it means like you're basically dog water. Like you have nothing to do, nothing to say. Like you're disgusting. You're dog water. But water's useful for dogs. Why is that saying that you're nothing? Like super germs. Like not nothing. Maybe- You're germy. Yeah, you're grimy. Yeah, yeah. You're grimy. Yeah. Let's go with that. All right. We're saying grimy, Curt. I almost want to give this one to you. And I'm going to ask the judges. Because the answer is doing a bad job. I don't think we were in our first. I don't think we were even close. Okay. I think you were close at one point, Brad. But you veered away from it. I think I was. Yeah. All right. Alpha or oldie? What is the definition again? Doing a bad job? Doing a bad job. I think oldie. Then alpha doesn't care about that. Yeah. I think oldie. That'd be oldie. Yeah. I would have said the same thing. This is alpha. Oh, we're terrible at this game. This is alpha. For the record, I just want to put my credentials on the line. All of this information. I don't know anybody in Gen Alpha. All of this information is from Parade Magazine. So. What? What is a magazine? What are you talking about? You're at negative five points. What year was Parade Magazine? When did it end? I don't know. The 50s. I really thought hard about the scoring system to make this like a fair shot for you. And I may have wildly misjudged. Weird. And some mad fresh beats that slapped. Next up, back seat bingo. Oh, man. That's a good one. That's a good one. I mean, the cars was like just invented in what? Like the 40s or something. No. Incorrect. I hope you had to be close, but okay. When was... Oh, okay. I'm sorry. I forgot. I got two car experts. The first cars were made in like the late 1800s. Correct. First like Ford Model T was like early 1900s. I don't believe either of you. I was a lot. Do they have back seats? I don't know. Yes. The back seat. You're right. The back seat was invented in the 40s or whatever you said. What do you think it means? Back seat bingo? I don't know. I don't know what that means. I'm going to go kind of literal. Okay. I think it means like you're playing bingo with somebody and you're trying to tell them where the numbers are. Why would that be phrased? Why would anyone use that as a phrase? Okay. That's not slang at that point. That's just an accurate description of the thing you're doing. And why would you do that in bingo? Bingo's competitive. Yeah. Play your own fucking board. Maybe back seat bingo's like trying to steal a friend. What? Explain yourself. Don't just say weird stuff. You're going behind their back and like trying to steal a friend like bingo. I stole your friend. And then it's like an old timey phrase. Dumbest thing you've ever said. Please let that be the answer because it's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Is that what we're going with? No. Wait. Do you have a better idea? No. Then we're going with it. We're going with it. Curtis locked in. I'm afraid it means making out in a car. Oh. Yeah. That's got to be old timey, Ryan. Oh, yeah. Definitely. Yeah. Old timey. Correct. 1950s. Bingo. I stole your friend. I made out with him in the back seat. When I heard it, back seat bingo, it seemed like it makes sense making out in a car to me. So I thought you might be able to get that one. But apparently not. What are you talking about? What do you mean it makes sense to you? I don't know. I think I had heard it before because I'm an old man. That gentleman likes to ply his seed in the other melon patch. Phantom tax. That's got to be modern. Phantom tax. Phantom tax. Phantom tax. F-A-N-U-M space T-A-X. What? To me, that's like something that they didn't know about. Like, oh, like a surprise thing, like a surprise tax or surprise anything. So I'm. Why would that be? Why would that be phantom? I don't know. I hear you on the surprise tax part, like hidden fees or something. Yeah. Yeah. I would go with hidden fees. That's fine. All right. Yeah. This would be stealing food from a friend. So pretty close. Yeah. Taxation without representation. We're right. I mean, I do think you're close on that one. You're in the right ballpark. I'm going to go ahead and give it to you because you guys are doing terrible. Congratulations. Two points. I don't want those points. I think it's alpha. Don't you agree, Ryan? I don't have a clue. I don't. The word you said and the definition you gave doesn't add up for anyone. So yeah, I guess alpha. Yeah. Alpha. Yeah. It's alpha. You're at negative one points. What the hell's phantom? So apparently there is some influencer who has a friend named phantom. Presumably that's their screen name. That's not a name. A username. Yeah. But apparently their friend has a thing where they take food from their friend's plate and they call that the food tax. So it's the phantom tax. Yeah. Gen alpha's stupid. We may seem choogy. So next up, skibbity riz. I mean, I think we know riz is an alpha term. Yeah. It's definitely an alpha term. What is yippity though? That's a weird throw in. I'm sorry. Skibbity. S-K-I-B-I-D-I. Oh, no. That's alpha. Yeah. Yeah. It's definitely alpha. I think it means someone who's uptight. Isn't riz like you have charisma? Isn't that what that means? Yeah. But skibbity. You're right. But the skibbity part. I don't know what skibbity. It's probably someone's friend who steals food or some shit. We already did that one. You know what, Ryan? Maybe we go with yours. Maybe it's like someone who's like extra charismatic. Yeah. I think it's someone who's like annoyingly charismatic. Okay. Skibbity gives me like a skibbity doodah kind of vibe. Like me. Like me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Brad has skibbity riz, I think. Yeah. You know what? The fact that you related it to Brad, I'm going to actually, I'm going to give this one to you. Nice. You are correct. It's Gen Alpha. And this is one I didn't, most of these I paraphrased. Okay. The actual like word for word definition given for this is so wild. I have to give it to you fully. Skibbity riz is the charm shown by a male skibbity toilet to a female skibbity toilet. This is used in reference to the toilets in the skibbity toilet animated YouTube series. That's where I've heard of that. I knew there was something with skibbity. There we go. I don't know what you just, I don't know what you described, but we don't deserve the points. What the hell? What about a skibbity toilet? I don't know, but we've established Brad as one of them. But we think we've got enough riz. Next up, bugged up. I mean, that sounds like, you know, the feds are going to try to bust you. So you got a, you got a wire. Definitely old timey. I was going to say more like working for the mafia. Like you're bugged up. What? Why would that be bugged? Bugsy? Oh, no, that's not it. I think I'm confirming that's not what it is. Dirt, we're going with you. You got a wire. And old timey. Incorrect. It stands for getting dressed up. Oh. And you're right. It is old time. You're doing well, actually, at this point. You're at six points. Well done. If that was any lower, I'd have to dig to Hades itself to find the apple. Next up, mog. Well, now I'm lost. You got to spell that one. M-O-G. Ooh. Ooh. This is a little random. An ant. Yeah, it doesn't make sense. Give you that. How do you spell ant, Brad? A-U-N-T. Oh. And old timey? You're hearing mod is what you're hearing. I don't think that's a... Old timey? Uh, mog. I don't know. I got enough. I hit a skirt. It's an old timey ant. It is being significantly more attractive than someone. And it is Gen Alpha. You lose on both counts. None of what you said made sense. Why is it a... What? Why? What is that? Parade Magazine did not give that much detail. You could have, like, Googled some context when something made no fucking sense. Take a beefy honk from your spliffs. Yeah. Uh, you're back at six points. And the next one is Yeg. Y-E-G-G. Not liking these. I'm not liking these short ones. Yeg. I mean, I'm only hearing Yegermeister. I don't know. And that shouldn't be it. Shouldn't be it for either of them. Yeti Yeg. Nothing. I got nothing, Brad. I have no idea. A bad fruit and modern. All right. Is that your final answer? I mean, it's not it. Doesn't matter. Yeah. I guess. I guess we're saying it's a bad fruit and it's modern. It is not modern. It is from the 1930s and it means a burglar. So sweet. That's probably like a racist-y thing, right? Actually. Some of the worst apple hurling and stick mashing I've seen. Also racist. The next one. A lally cooler. Yeah. It sounds offensive. Yeah. There's a lot of offensive words out there that I don't care about. This one. If someone called me this, I would be upset. Ryan, I can definitively say you're a real lally cooler. The fact that he called you that, I kind of feel like it might be like a parent. A lally cooler. Why would you? Why would it be a parent? Well, because Curtis just called you that. What else do you have besides that? No, he's just saying because I thought it was an insult. It was a yes and, Brad. I thought he was giving us a hint. No, we wouldn't do that. I just want to be on record. I did not say whether or not it was an insult. I just said it applies to Ryan. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. That is the hint. No, he wasn't kidding. It's actually a hint that it applies to you. I think it might mean father or parent. Why would a lally cooler be a father? Why not? I want to hear why. Only because Curtis gave us this hint. I have nothing, no other reason. We're going to go with it. You have to tell me why that would be the case. You have no other things about you. There's nothing about you besides that you're a father and whatever you do for work that no one understands. That's accurate. I don't think it means Steelers fan. Curt doesn't mean Steelers. No, okay, you're right. All right, let's go. There's no way it's sports. That much we know. So what, I'm sorry, what is your answer? We think it's an old timey parent, Curt. You are correct. It's old timey from the 1890s. It doesn't mean parent, though. It means a real success. Ryan, you're a real lally cooler. So you misled us. That was a mistake. Well, Ryan is a success as a parent, so we should get that one. Get it! Get it, you fool! By all the toys, someone catch that sphere! The next word is zang. Z-A-N-G. Well, that's a good one. That feels comfortably in either zone. So I grew up and we used to say zang, but that doesn't mean it didn't become more famous modern. So zang means like cool, I'm pretty sure, and I think it's actually old, like 80s. And I don't trust Brad, so I think it's probably going to mean a poser and it's gen alpha. Well, you have to agree to an answer, fellas. How confident are you, Bradley? I'm fairly confident. No, I'm really not. It's up to you. I'm fine either way. I don't care. That changed quickly. We're going to go with mine then. Curt, lame or a poser and is new. No. Incorrect. It means dang, just like with a D. It's the exact same word as dang, just with a Z for some reason. Nine. But it is gen alpha, which means mathematically you have won this game. I'm glad I listened to you, Ryan. To serve up some high-key brat. There is one last one. Would you like to heighten your score? We might as well. Burn our way. Wake snakes. That's got to be waking up and smoking, Ryan. I think that's Curt's password. And then it's old-timey. You're saying it's like a waking bag. Yeah. Or is it like waking up and masturbating? Yeah, I think that's it. Yeah. And old-timey. And old-timey. It is old-timey. It's from 1840s. Boom. You know, I'm torn, but I've already lost this game, so I'm just going to run the score up. I'm going to count this one. You get this one right. It means specifically to get into mischief, which I think an example of mischief might be waking up and masturbating. In the 1800s? Absolutely. Absolutely not the definition of mischief, but fair enough. This one's for you now. Your final score with a little bit of padding, but I think relatively fair padding. You're at 10 points. You are comfortably winning this game. Congratulations. Are you trying to say we know all of the generations, Curt, and all of their stupid slangs? You had a pretty even score. You got some old-timey wrong and some alpha wrong, so you're pretty even-handed. Can I just say this? Alpha, tighten it up. Tighten it up. It's too late for the old-timey, because most of them are dead anyway. Do better, guys. Your slang sucks. You're being so skibbity right now. Wasn't that a good one? Don't I have skibbity riz? I'm talking like a toilet? I think you have to add riz to make it good. Oh, I'm just a toilet? Ryan, why don't you tell us what to expect next week when we cover the previous episode at Season 9, Episode 13, Motherlode, Part 2. Gertie makes moves on Marty and assaults Frasier. Niles is over her, but gives in to letting her live here forever after a brief sob from Daphne. And I think maybe, in Part 1, this is when we meet Gertie. That's my hope. It's very funny when you say you hope you meet a character in the Upside Down, because it means you are done with them. That's right. That's interesting. That might be the most, like, sounds like a plausible episode you've done in a while. A long time. It's weird to get a Part 2 thrown at you. Yeah. I don't think we've had one since the literal ending of the show. It's confusing. We'll find out if it's that next week. That's going to do it for us. Thanks to Gavin McLeod for our theme music, and thank you for listening. I suppose you don't really care if this podcast is successful. You aren't curious what happens if you search for Reverse Psych Pod. Lord knows you can't be bothered to shoot us an email at reversepsychpod at gmail.com. From myself, for Ryan, and for Brad, best day. Give it a raise, motherfuckers. Frasier continues to flounder until the moderator calls a news break. I'm okay to skip it. I'm the only one that watches the show.
Preserved conversation context
Inspired by Frasier being grilled by children on the radio, the hosts name people they would like to challenge. Curtis chooses Larry David because sparring with him would be fun. Brad chooses Tony Romo, criticizing his sports commentary. Ryan wants to question recent Bed Bath & Beyond CEOs about what happened to the store, recalling the pleasure of browsing there. These are discussion choices, without competitive scoring.

Preserved conversation context
Brad gives C+, calling the episode weird and unnecessary but crediting Niles with some humor. Curtis ranks it #55 of 69: above the rushed-wedding finale part one, below the revival’s Blind Date. Ryan gives 5.9/10, saying it felt enjoyable while watching but fell apart on reflection. The denominator follows the established display convention.

Preserved conversation context
Curtis announces a final team score of 10 “with a little bit of padding” and congratulates Brad and Ryan. Their mathematical victory is declared before Wake snakes; Curtis explicitly says he has lost. The checkpoints −5, −1, six and six remain as spoken and accepted by the owner. The apparent “Nine” is Ryan saying “annoying,” not another score. No unspoken bonus or arithmetic correction is invented.
