Welcome to Reverse Psychology, the Fraser Rewatch podcast where we go backwards through every episode of the show. Tonight, we are covering Season 9, Episode 12, Motherlode Part 1, which originally aired on January 8th, 2002. Will Ryan get his wish and never see Gert again? We'll find out. I'm your host, Curtis Sheck. Joining me as always, it's our resident Upside Downer, it's Ryan Sansone. Curtis, I am excited. We're finally doing a two-parter. It's been, I don't know, forever now since we've done the new Fraser, we've done Die Hard. I don't remember if Season 10 even had a two-part episode, so I'm thrilled. Can't wait to talk about this. We've done at least one two-parter, but they may not have been called the same name. There was the episode where Fraser got punched, and I think we had Frank on for the second part of that one. Well, we'll get into that in a second. Also with us is our virgin, it's Bradley Kirkson. So many other names of this episode you could have called me. I was really expecting orator, you know, something fun like that. It's just what you tell your mom. We get it. That I'm an orator? I'm just really happy to be here, and I'm really happy to talk about Fraser. It's been a long time, and you know, it's April Fool's Day, so we're gonna be fools in April just like we're fools every other day of the week. Okay. Well, you know what I'm happy about? We have a returning champion. Welcome back, Frank Sullivan. Thank you. I'm happy to be back for this part two or part one, depending on how you look at it. Terribly confusing, isn't it? I never know what's going on. I don't know if it's a part one or part two. Was it the last two episodes of this season a two-part episode? I don't think it was. Yes. They did have the previous one on. Was it the two-parter? It did you previously on? Yes, it was two-part. They had different names, though. After this episode, they did two-parters, but they gave each episode a distinct name. That's a lot of two-part episode, then. That's just the continuing. It's like saying that every episode that Gertie's in is part of the same, you know, series. Well, I think the thing that distinguishes it is the previously on, yeah, and the to be continued. I remember I was saying last time with the music, how it changes and stuff. I think that's part of it, too. Oh, okay. Well, anyway, happy April Fool's Day. I pulled an amazing prank on you guys before we started recording.

Someone brought rules.

The games, the premises, and what everyone brought to the table.

Frank brings a fictional feud with ChatGPT role-playing Cam Winston. Two prepared responses set the scene before the group supplies live retaliation prompts. A suggested goal is to make the AI concede that it has been bested. A proposal to escalate to a nuclear explosion is challenged; it is not the actual ending. The group assigns no numerical points and eventually stops without a declared winner.

The prepared exchanges

These are read-aloud fictional exchanges from Frank’s preparation, preceding the live group choices. The earlier AI prompting is reported history.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Attribution unavailable
Cam’s first prank ideas

The first prepared AI reply suggests cellophane across the apartment door or a whoopee cushion at an intellectual gathering. The original off-record prompt is not supplied.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Attribution unavailable
Nails and missing wine

The prepared story says the group retaliated by nailing Cam’s door shut. The next AI reply has maintenance remove the nails and relocates the group’s wine. A later clarification describes two possible wine scenarios rather than establishing one definite location.

Two live retaliation submissions

The group develops two successive submissions in one continuing feud. Earlier alternatives and side conversations remain distinct from the prompts actually read out.

WHAT THEY BROUGHT

Attribution unavailable
Restaurant cake and tomato-only tacos

Ideas include attacking Cam’s car and pizza deliveries before the group settles on restaurant cake or tacos containing only tomatoes. Frank reads the selected DoorDash prompt as twelve deliveries a day for two weeks. The automatic transcript’s “Ellen Tomatoes” is preserved in the source appendix; the surrounding selection establishes only tomatoes. Cam replies with inflatable garden gnomes or motion-triggered doorbell chimes at night and declares the feud far from over.

WHAT THEY BROUGHT

Attribution unavailable
Brad, a cage and bird calls

Asked for his gut instinct, Brad initially hesitates. The group considers Robot Brad, cutting utilities or cable and making Brad Cam’s friend. The selected fictional prompt evolves into employing a homeless person named Brad to remain in a cage outside the balcony and constantly yell like a bird. Brad supplies “Caw, caw.” Frank reads the final AI response: a balcony sound system playing opera and heavy metal at odd hours.

WHAT THEY BROUGHT

Who proposes delivering an obscene amount of pizza?

If he's throwing a wine party, maybe we do that thing where we deliver like an obscene amount of pizza to his place.

WHAT THEY BROUGHT

Who says “I was going to say, you should just punch in”?

I don't think chat CPT has the context of understanding all of it as Brad, but I was going to say, you should just punch in.

Oh, I see. I see what was going on. Curtis's way to pull a prank on us is to fall asleep and almost forget about it. So he's really great with the pranks. That is Curtis humor at his best. I did not almost forget. I flat out fell asleep and just didn't wake up in time. Well, you know, at least you didn't pick up the phone when I called you and was like, who is this? At least you knew what I was calling about. When I looked over and saw Bradley's name pop up, I didn't hesitate for a second. I knew exactly what had happened. God, I know it really is April Fool's Day if Curtis has called me the real name. This does feel like in the ballpark of what Curt would actually do for a prank, where he's just like, oh, I was going to do a pie with you, but then I fell asleep. April Fool's. I was going to ask, are you guys pro prank? Are you against them? And are you pranksters yourselves? Uh, definitely prankster. I'm prankster. Whoa. Frank's a born prankster. You have to expand on that, Frank. Tell us about your prank life. I have to backtrack more that I just constantly antagonize everyone around me. Okay. Those are not, that's not prank. You are the worst prankster in the world. Every prank you do turns out either too big. What do you mean by antagonize? Give us an example you're comfortable sharing. Uh, I don't know. Just messing with, like, I don't know. It's just nothing. Just nothing. Or too small. Grabbing something away when someone's not looking, they turn around and they don't see where it is. Are you explaining how you're a prankster or how you like to agitate people? Like to agitate people. That's why I said I was backtracking. I wouldn't call myself a prankster, more just agitating people. I assume you mostly only hang out with your wife. Are you just constantly taking things away from her and just, just to try to mess with her? Yes. But at least now there's two kids for me to do it to as well. Do any of you that go into work, do you have, like, colleagues that try to be, like, pranksters at work? Just George Clooney. So he works at your company? April Fool's. I don't work with George Clooney. Got you guys again. Grittis, you're just on fire with your humor today. I'm very funny. April Fool's. No, I'm not. I kind of like the double. I was going to say that did remind me of an actual work prank I played. Oh, yeah? Perfect. For some reason, there's, like, I want to say two or three staff who thought our place had, was, like, slightly haunted. So me and another one, we, uh... No, you have to take a pause for that. You can't just continue on after saying that very casually. Two or three people at your work thought it was haunted? Yeah, still do. Uh, we work with kids, and you would occasionally hear, like, kid voices coming from a room where there's no one there, and then there'd be, like, shit that moved. I, I, I'm not one of them, so I'm not one of the ones that actually thinks that it's haunted. I haven't really heard... I'm starting to think it is haunted after your brief explanation. What are you talking about? Now something that definitely are convinced it is. Others, we told that it was because they were actually starting to panic. We put a, uh, Bluetooth speaker up in the, like, above one of the ceiling tiles, and we had set the volume just right so they could hear it, but they couldn't exactly hear what it was. And so I was playing stuff on my phone, like, I would, like, send messages, like, I would type it in. I had, like, one of those, like, voice app type things, and I would type it in and it would say it. What would it say? At one point, because they were coming in and be like, hey, are you hearing something? So I looked up an hour-long video on YouTube of just, like, haunting little girl noises, and I would just bat. Uh-oh. Too far. You went too far. I was on your team till that moment. And they would come in, and so I'd be like, I have no idea what you're talking about. They would actually have us go into the room and be like, you don't hear that, and be like, no, I don't hear anything. Meanwhile, there's, like, these little haunting girl noises that are just, like, silently there, like, just within, like, hearing range. Not silent. Yeah, not silent. Explicitly not silent. Just barely not silent. It went on until, like I said, there was, like, one staff who was really starting to freak out about it, and so we told her and shut it down. But it was good fun. Interesting. How long did you let this go on before you admit, or did you never tell them it was a prank? There's several that we never told was a prank. We only told- What? We told the one it was a prank. We, that was panicking. And then we told another one who was coming in during the planning phase. For the record, because you did mention you work with kids, these were not children that you were pranking. You were pranking the adults, correct? Yeah, no, I was, yeah, I was pranking the adults. I was pranking the adults. You're the only one who would prank a child. I have. To be fair, I did play it in one group when the kids are in there, but I knew that the group of kids that were in there, they wouldn't even be aware, and they wouldn't pay attention, wouldn't give a crap, and they did. We're towing the line now, Frank. We're towing the line. Yellow card's being thrown. Little bit. But no, it was mostly just to terrorize the staff. What a great casual line. The one person who was in it with me, I had her doing the supervisions with the staff, and so she was doing it one-on-one with the staff in that room. And so it was just like the one person who was in on it, and that staff having a supervision done, and these haunting little girl voices going on. It was pretty funny. Pretty funny. The supervisions is what you could call it. Exactly. All right. Okay. I feel so bad. Made us late tonight. I have bad news. You may know that I'm in the process of purchasing a townhome. It's exciting for us. But then the inspection, and we made some requests, and we've been waiting for them to respond to them, and apparently they just have, and is very, very eager to discuss them, so he wants me to stop this, at least for a bit. This is hard. Yeah, we can't continue the recording. I'm so sorry. That's fine. Hey, one other thing. One other thing. April fools were instead pivoting into the episode. That was pretty good. That was solid. I've never been so proud of you in my whole entire life. I was convinced. I've been more proud of you when you could stay the fuck awake. We open with lights turning on throughout Seattle. Frazier can't escape his Beamer when Cam Winston's Hummer blocks him in. Woo! Cam driving a Hummer. Did not see that coming. We are firmly in 2002. I would think his car would somehow be smaller than Frazier's. I thought he'd have like a really, really fancy sports car. I thought there'd be a higher chance of him going like smart car than Hummer. In 2002? I don't know. I don't do your stuff like that. I don't have whatever mental tick you have that makes me check things like that. Yeah, that's the only thing I'm good at. We did get a nice thing where we find out Frazier called the cops on Cam for a party he threw. Probably off camera. But I'm hoping we see it in the previous episode. We also find out, Ryan, in that part, that he was the only one in the building not invited. That's how Cam knew he called the cops. Which feels like a stretch. I mean, we've seen some of the shitty people at the condo board. I would definitely not invite that cagey old guy. I'm curious how you all felt about the taking off of the shoes and throwing them. Well, you don't want to scuff the Beamer. I get that. It's more the tossing them away instead of just holding on to them that I found interesting. It doesn't seem very Frazier. No, this is where I kind of agree. And this is from my uncoordinatedness that I am. I looked at it as, oh, he couldn't figure out how to hold them and get out at the same time. So he had to throw them because he panicked. And that's something I would do in that situation. That's fair. He was planning on grabbing that pipe. Yeah. We all knew it was going to go poorly. Which, again, something I would do because I'm so uncoordinated. So I totally agreed with him. By the way, I think this condo board has bigger fish to fry than who's putting up an American flag. Because this pipe has got to be corroded as hell to fall apart that quickly from one man grabbing it. He barely touched it and then just water. There was not much water pressure either. How bad are the showers? No. Is there normally pipes with water running through parking garages? That felt a little weird. It's like underground. That's why I think, okay, maybe there's a chance. Because they did make a comment that he's underground and then there's a sub-basement. So that's why I thought maybe. Still seems like a stretch. I don't know. A little bit. But if it was an above-ground one, I'd 100% agree with you. But I could see maybe underground. I'm not bothered by the placement of a water pipe. I'm more bothered by the structural integrity of it. Yeah, I mean, as someone who's recently soldered a pipe, there's no way that, and I did a shitty job, there's no way it's coming off with just a light pool. He didn't put his body weight down yet. Back up. You soldered a pipe? Oh, yeah. I didn't brag about that on this. No. Which is shocking. Is this an April Fool's? No, that would have been good. No, I soldered a pipe because my buddy's insane and he was changing his water heater out. And he's like, I need some help. So I came over and the first thing he asked me to do, he's like, all right, let's solder this thing. I was like, what are you talking about? I don't even know what solder is. Isn't that welding? Is it soldering or weld? This was soldering, according to him, my expert in the field. Okay. I mean, we got solder. We put it on a pipe. We melded it. I don't know what you want, Curt. Seems like soldering. I don't know. This is 100% of my experience. It's soldering. Thank you, Frank. What is the difference? Because I just am curious. I'm not a welder, Curt. I'm a solderer. I'm obsessing Frank. I know you don't know anything. I don't know what the actual difference is, but I think welding just probably has to do with maybe a higher heat source of the torch. Soldering is not welding. It's not remotely close. We were using a shoddy torch. We had to change torches, which I'd never held a blowtorch before. So there was a lot going on for me that day. Okay. So soldering and welding are both techniques for joining materials, but they differ in the process used in the strength of the resulting joint. Soldering is used in delicate work, while welding is for heavy duty applications. Yeah. Don't you feel foolish. Ryan, what a delicate pipe you were soldering. I did a delicate little solder, let me tell you. Did you put a bow on it when you were done? I'll tell you this. We turned the water on and it didn't flood the house, so huge win. That is a win. Yeah. I just checked with them yesterday. We're two weeks in. This thing's holding. Wow. That's impressive. Believe me. It's on my resume. As a future homeowner, I'm genuinely, sincerely very impressed. When you're ready to change your water tank, me and him will come in. I will help with one soldering joint. I will be reaching out. Just the one, though. He tried to get me to do more. I was like, this is your house, dude. Stop. You have to do this because you're better at this, clearly. And I can't believe that we're doing this and didn't hire someone. Daphne and Niles agree to leave some essentials at each other's place. When Roz comes to ferry their stuff back and forth, they decide to move in together instead. Roz comes in and she's just like, yeah, I guess I'll do whatever to help you move into Frasier's apartment, Niles. And like, she's like kind of giving him sass and then definitely just goes and doesn't. She rips a seat out, which is insane. She strips two bolts. Which I don't know how she did that. I don't know how she had the tools to do that. Very confusing. Backing up a second, you see Daphne's like one pretty sizable bag, but pretty small. And then Niles has his own bell cart just filled with stuff. Why did Daphne have a bag? Because the whole point was they were supposed to have shared stuff in each other's apartment. They weren't moving in. I was slightly confused why they needed more than like a toothbrush. Oh, I think I missed the whole point. I thought that they were both moving into Frasier's apartment. This is before they decided to even move in together. This is just to have people stuff. I thought the plan was for the two of them to go live with Marty, Frasier, and, you know, be there and just live in her room. I think the idea is if Niles stays the night at her house, at Frasier's house, he'll have like a change of clothes and whatever he needs to like get ready in the morning and vice versa. She has it at his place. Why she doesn't always stay at his, I don't know why she would ever bring Niles over. To her brother and father's house. This makes way more sense for me now, though. I really did not get what was happening. I thought we were selling Niles' apartment. Like, I don't know. So what did you think of all the things Niles brought? It made sense when I thought he was moving into the apartment. I have formal, semi-formal, déshabit, wet weather, cold weather, cloudy. Oh, so you missed the whole entire joke. This is why you didn't understand this, dude. Because you missed the whole joke. I was legitimately very lost. I think that when they had this conversation, they had two different conversations. I think she was saying, Keep a few things at each other's houses, you know, save running back and forth. And what he heard was, We'd both bring whatever we needed for any eventuality. I don't think that was even in the spirit of what she was saying, let alone the letter of it. Every eventuality for one day. He was just covering it all for one day. Right. Frank, are you on board with that? Oh, no, no. He was being insane about it. But he just had to cover all his options. You never know what's going to happen in a day. I think that he brought more clothes than any of us, except maybe Curtis owns. And that's like on the rocks. He had a full bag of ties. I have four. I have a shitload of ties. I actually do, too. I've never used any of them. I have so many ties as well, too. Yeah, for sure. I think I've used four, but I might have. I might legitimately have 50. I don't know. I got rid of a bunch of ties not that long ago. I'm down to like four. Why? They don't take up any space. After like the 50th time of going through every tie I own to decide if it's the right tie for the occasion. And every time it being one of two. You don't have to go through every tie. You just when you find one, you just stop. Yes, that's what he's telling you. I realized I only ever grab one or two of the ties. So why do I need the others? I've never once cycled the full 50, though. That would be crazy. His point is that's what he did. So he threw a bunch away. I think Curt deliberated a little more. I did. Well, I did deliberate, but I probably had at max like eight ties. I never had a ton. I think he did like a bracket for every time he had an event that warranted a tie. I know he doesn't know what a sports bracket is, but like I think he basically did that. For a while, because my work has a fancy dress up party every year, I would go to the fanciest place I know, the Burlington Coat Factory. I think you're saying that facetiously, but I don't know. It's a coat factory. It says Burlington in front. I don't. They give me a lot of mixed vibes. I don't know what that place is all about. They used to have a combination dress shirt and tie. So I wouldn't have to like learn how to match ties. I could just buy a tie with the shirt. I think you're saying the tie was built into the shirt. No, it's not like sewn in. No, it's just, it came with a tie. So I knew it would match. And now that I have somebody in my life who like knows how clothes work and like matching colors and things every time like, what about this? This shirt and this tie go together. And he's like, no, they don't. I was like, but Burlington said that they did. Why won't he just match them for you then? Why are you going through them if he's, if he's into clothes? Well, he would, but he'd only pick one or two ties. So I threw out the rest. You felt confident being able to get rid of them. As much as we would love to have a whole podcast, you know, about ties. Let's go back to this episode in the scene. I do have more clothes talk because Roz does a really clever continuity move. So I don't know if you noticed this, but when she joins the scene initially, she is wearing a jacket. And then she leaves and she takes the thing out of her car and like makes room for Niles' shit. And she gets like grease on her shirt and she walks back. There's no jacket anymore. She's just wearing the shirt, which reveals the grease stain. And I feel like that was a very clever way to avoid having to like change clothes throughout the recording process. She could just take the jacket off. Curtis, I like that, but I also like the additional continuality of this scene. Whoa. Is that a word? Ryan, don't you remember when Niles said that he needed clothes for every continuality? I mean, it's kind of a cool word. It's like, it's trippy. And I don't think it's real, but like I'm enjoying it. So Ryan, no idea if you actually watched the scene. So we'll see depending on your answer. What did you think of them actually talking about moving in together? I got that they decided to move in Niles' apartment. And I guess I should have picked up that that was big and momentous to them. You didn't even realize when you were watching that it was big and momentous. No, I know I did. I did. I got the gravity of that ask. I guess I thought it was less of an ask when he was going to move in with the other friends. So now I understand. I didn't think about it enough, I guess. You totally understood that scene, but it did not help you understand the first part of the scene. Got it. Wait a minute. Wait a minute, Ryan. So you thought their plan that they didn't realize was a bad plan was that Niles was going to leave his massive giant apartment and squeeze into Frasier's place with Daphne, Frasier, and his father. That was 100% what I thought we were doing at the start of the episode. That is psychotic. Yeah. Yeah. One, I thought that was the whole point. I thought that they all knew it was a crazy plan. And then finally, like, you know what? Let's just live together on our own. And that was the big momentous agreement. I realized as we're talking that that's crazy. It makes no sense. But... Yes, correct. But I didn't... I couldn't... My brain wasn't letting me be like, yeah, they're just taking one bag each to each other's place. I don't know. I don't know what to tell you. Well, in your defense, he was bringing way more than one bag, so... If there's something here you find excessive, jump right in. I assumed that was literally all that Daphne owned was one bag of stuff. I mean, it tracks. Yeah, there's also nothing in this episode to dissuade me of that thought either. Despite the amount of stuff that Niles is bringing, piles and piles of stuff, I have no doubts that he... Like, all of these are duplicates. He has so much more left at his apartment than he is taking to Daphne's. Uh, Daphne's probably packed, what, 60, 70% of her things into that suitcase? Gotta be. She's living in one room in an apartment and we've never seen any of her stuff in Frasier's apartment. Well, Frasier wouldn't allow that. Her stuff in his apartment. But it just seems unlikely that she would have, like, uh, you know, a lockbox somewhere. You may think you know the location of the lockbox. Not the word. Uh, what are those called? A what? Storage unit. Storage unit. Thank you. Wait, did you abbreviate that to student? I heard June Bay. I don't know, I think your mic cut out. I only got about six letters from you. I attempted to say storage unit. How drunk are you? That is the word I was looking for. Was not saying June Bay. Is that what you thought I said? We all heard June Bay. June Bay. Nah. June Bay. I'm calling it a June Bay going forward. Frasier returns from the condo board meeting, triumphant, while Cam promises revenge. Niles and Daphne announce their big move, but before the champagne is popped, mum calls and spoils the party. I thought it was hilarious how Frasier's dad was laughing from the get-go. You do your share of polluting with that substitute for masculinity you're driving. If mine's a substitute for masculinity, then what is yours? Bigger. Ha! And he just kept giggling throughout the whole thing. This was such a tough back and forth for me, because Frasier is getting worked, for the most part, and Marty is, like, gaining from it, which annoys the piss out of me. But it is fun. It all started at a condo board meeting, and unfortunately we don't get to see this condo board meeting. Yes, I'm fortunate. I don't know about you, Ryan, but after seeing the one in the last episode, I'm mad we didn't get to see this one. This is the most unrealistic part of this whole episode, and maybe the show to date, is that Frasier had a good condo board meeting. These people fucking hate him. It is pretty amazing, but not unrealistic for his opinion of people to go from decent to terrible in four minutes. I feel like this is not the first time we've seen Frasier regale us of how much he's wowed the condo board, but every time we've actually gone to the condo board, they have nothing but contempt for him. I think it's just pure denial and grandiosity that is leading him to say it went well. I agree with you, Curtis, but keep in mind, he got what he wanted at this one, it sounds like. What was it when you wanted again? Do we remember? He wanted the truck out of the way. Yeah, the truck out of the way, and Cam had to go park in the sub-basement. He had to park in the sub-basement. Yeah. To be fair, they couldn't really fight it because his argument was the pollution and everything, and I mean, you can't argue against that. There was no counter-argument at the time. Why is there no counter-argument? Why does going into the sub-basement make your air so much cleaner in the building? Frank's right, though. They're in Seattle. They're super into that kind of stuff. He's right. They would have definitely said something. Ryan is right that it doesn't pass any kind of logical test because you're saying that because of the emissions being too high, we wanted to drive more through our garage to get all the way to the sub-basement. I think it would be more realistic if they just banned his Hummer, right? If they're just like, oh, you're not allowed to park your Hummer in this building because we're green Seattle. Yeah, I think probably what's happening at the condo board is in cases where Frazier is either being annoying enough that they want to just shut him up and give him what he wants, or he's made a point they really cannot counter, they probably begrudgingly give him what he wants. But in his mind, he's been triumphant. Do you think we'll see a scene where he orates to the condo board successfully? Do you think we'll ever get to watch that? I can't imagine that'll happen. No. Sounds like horrible television, right? Honestly, there's a reason they just recount those. They don't show them. Quick theory for you. So Marty's laughing at all Cam's jokes, and they are pretty good. Cam is definitely one-upping Frazier and being pretty funny about it. But do you think that Marty's extra laughing just so that he can get a little sweet with the Winston family and get with his mom eventually? Has he met the mom yet? No, not at all. We're pretty confident they've met. He probably just thinks that his son's a jackass. What son is a jackass? Exactly. I got a question. Ryan, why do you hate Marty? That is a great question, Frank. Oh, Frank, I got a question. Why do you like Marty? I mean, Frazier is a jackass, and Marty just slacks it off half the time. You can't defend Marty because you've seen the whole series. For us that have only seen the back two and a half seasons, we've come to meet a monster that is an old guy that, you know, probably should have been killed in Nazi Germany. Like, he's just a terrible person. What we've seen of Marty in the back two seasons is he has basically three modes. Mode one, he's not really bad. He's just not really any good. He's just there. Much like the women in the show. Yes. Yes. The olds and the women. When he does get something meaty to do, oftentimes it's to play the part of the, like, creepy old man. So he's, like, saying creepy things about Daphne's boobs. That's the first thing I think he says in the whole show for us in the Upside Down. He's complimenting Daphne's tits. Yeah. Really? That happens. He also has some, like, racist stuff, some fascist stuff. It's not great. By some, we're talking multiple episodes. I wonder if that's a later season Marty thing because I really don't remember him being like that very much. I don't mean he's, like, straight up, like, wearing a Nazi flag on his shirt. I'm saying, like... Pretty much just, though. He'll play, like, the old man thing. Why does this show have so much Nazi talk? I don't understand. Oh, and just to catch you up, Brad's also pro-Hitler. Very pro-Nazi. I would shake Hitler's hands. It's more old man talk, but it is also, like, racist old man talk. The best version of Marty we've gotten is, like, he's funny and kind of ribs on Frasier and gives Frasier a hard time. Like, that's the best version of him is, like, giving Frasier his comeuppance. He's been a good dad twice. That's more or less what I remember him as is just ribbing Frasier and Niles and just being a good dad every now and then, but mostly just being there to kind of be the funny part to them and make fun of them. He's a monster. Go check some of the tape. It'll track. From what you're saying and what everything everyone else has said so far that has seen the show, Marty's a good guy. So I have to assume something bad happens to him in, like, season eight. You know, maybe when we're doing some Maris stuff, something snaps at him and he becomes a monster. I don't know, but it doesn't seem to have registered for anyone that's watched most of the show. Well, no, you brought up Maris. Guess who? Maris? So I do have an upside down question for you, Ryan, because we get a line. I never would have guessed you'd end up with Niles. I know. He's come so far since the dark days of Maris and Mel. What do you think that means as an upside downer? Yeah, I can't wait. Actually, you want to talk about this? There was this scene. We just do a logistics dump out of nowhere. Yes. There is some logistics. Logistics dump, logistics dump. We got ourselves a logistics dump. What with logistics? He couldn't have dreamed of him and Daphne moving in together two years ago. Yep. Presumption there is that they weren't dating. They basically kidnapped Daphne from a wedding like a year ago. Yes, they did say that. Yep. Yeah. I think that was in the two-year range, but yeah, you're right. They definitely say that explicitly. They say that Daphne was living with Frasier and Marty nine years ago. Again, they're laying out explicit things. It's really weird. I wrote them all down because I was so convinced you were going to miss them all. So I'm just so happy, right? Again, it was like a three-minute bit where they're just like, let's explain everything that's happened leading up to this moment. But not in interesting details, in very logistic-y ways. They were just giving the year mark, saying what happened. Well, in their defense, the only people that need that information is you. Just me. Because we've all experienced it. Yeah, so. That's what I'm saying. They didn't do a lovey-dovey version of it. They did a bulleted timeline of... It was really weird. They also mentioned that at this time, we thought both parents were coming into town. You know, obviously, I've seen all these episodes, but I totally forgot that that happened. So that made me happy. Made you happy that Daphne's heart was about to be broken? No, that it all makes sense that the way the next episode goes. Now I get it more. It made me appreciate the last episode a little more, is what I'm trying to say, in Brad way. Okay. Terrible way. Brad way? Where's Brad way? I want to be Brad way again. Oh, I don't even remember it. Just do what you think Brad way should sound like, then. Even better. Was it a little bit of my Barney voice? Just do your voice. No, it wasn't your Barney voice. What? It was very enthusiastic. It was, hey, I'm Brad way. Were you going to help me? I wanted to hear what he would come up with. Brad way. Oh, it was my professional wrestling voice. That's right. No, it wasn't your macho, man. It was a little bit of this. It was a little bit of this. It was a little bit of that. It was a little bit of, of, um. It was none of this. This isn't Brad way, and I will have nothing to do with this. All right, we'll figure out Brad way. We will not. Someone says moving is something to be enjoyed. I don't remember who or why, but it was funny. It was Daphne, right? Was it? Yeah, she gets the call from her mom and is like, oh, the move is off because my mom can't know I've ever had sex. And she doesn't want to say that out loud. So she tries and makes excuses like the process of moving should be enjoyed. Yes, she does say that. A nervous Niles wants to make a better second impression on Mrs. Moon. Simon arrives, too, instantly bonding with Marty and deciding to stay at Frazier's. There was a lot that's hinting at stuff that's to come, I guess. I mean, what, I guess he drank all of Frazier's liquor probably last time. The liquor cabinet has a lock. Oh, my new moped had a lock, too. This was where we learned that Daphne was kidnapped from a wedding with a rich lawyer. It's a little asterisk there. I'm sorry. What is the asterisk? Take us to the footnote. It sounded like he was a successful person, which I think surprises me. It doesn't surprise me that Daphne was kidnapped or rescued from a wedding, whatever. It surprises me that it was with someone who was like, you know, of some sort of prominence. I think this happened last year, actually, now that I'm remembering things, because they said all of these guys were here a year ago. Like, we had already met Simon. I don't know if the show has met Simon. Every all these people met Simon. I think it was last year. Yeah. And it kind of made it sound like Simon already knew like Marty and stuff. And Frazier clearly knew Simon. Yeah, I think they were all familiar with each other. Gertie and Simon were definitely familiar with everyone in this scene. Whether or not we meet them, that'll be one third book. Well, we know from the last episode we watched that there is sort of this way in which the mom sort of loves Simon and is very, very critical of Daphne. We get a kind of weird moment where... What do you mean kind of? You mean very weird. Okay. Well, she praises Daphne for being a virgin and then really chastises Simon. If you will have your leg over any filth that moves. I don't care if they're moving. And this is what makes it bizarre. She giggles at that. Like she's charmed by that joke. Again, this is another example of we say, this was 2002. We would not see this scene on the air in 2025. I didn't feel appropriate for 2002. And her belly laugh reaction when we know that she reacts very poorly to the idea that Daphne's gotten with anyone is really confusing. I think it was just showing that Simon can do no wrong with Gert. But Daphne is constantly underperforming her view. I agree with you, but it was like, it felt really aggressive for her. The big laugh reaction to that. Yeah, that's fair. The laugh kind of jives with how she's treated the two the whole time. But the weird part to me is that she starts with a praise of Daphne and then an attack on Simon. Like that's the part that I think was surprising. She just ripped open Daphne a second ago. She felt she had to sew it back up a little bit. What? You said she ripped into Daphne. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. Sorry, I don't get sewing jokes. I get what Gert was doing. I don't get what you're doing, Gert. Well, that's par for the course. We do get Daphne just falling apart at the end of the scene. Like she's having a tough go. And I think it's justified. Like we've seen some times in the past where Roz falls apart a little unjust. I get why Daphne's having a meltdown here, but it's a little tough to watch. Yeah. I really enjoyed at the end of this scene when it's Niles and Daphne trying to discuss how they can live together. And Daphne's like, I'm going to stand up to my mom. I'm going to fight for us. And then her mom walks in and she immediately slaps him because they were like kissing. Yeah. She slaps him and says, fresh. I did like that. I like that line. I didn't get it at the moment. I don't get it when you replayed it back. Why does she say fresh? He was getting fresh with her. He was being, he was hanky-panky-ing her. And she was trying to show her mom that she won't stand for that. She's a good girl. But doesn't she kind of question, like she's like fresh? No, it was more like accusatory. Fresh. Is that an accusation? I think it's one of those Britishisms. It was very British. Yeah, I didn't get it. So, okay. So she's accusing him of being too fresh, which is kissing. I loved it. I thought it was a delightful little moment for her. I still am not 100% sure I get it. I get it via what you guys are saying. Is this the same scene where Daphne was like, who cares what my mom thinks? And then the mom walks in. Yes. Yes. I remember that. I do not remember her slapping him. That is so weird. I think it's a very small slap, I believe. Okay. It wasn't Will Smith going off on Chris Rock. What if instead of saying, keep your wife's name out of your mouth, Will Smith just slapped her and said, fresh. Fresh. Great pop culture reference there, Curtis. I mean, he is the fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Oh, that would have been, people would have been confused. He couldn't have done that. It would have been so confusing on every count. Uh-oh. Richard. Fresh. Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me. We get a title card. 3,265 insults and five days later. Back from dinner, tensions run high. Toward off Simon's advances, Roz name drops Roger, her definitely real boyfriend who you wouldn't know because he goes to a different school. Niles is increasingly frustrated seeing Daphne so submissive to her mom. I thought Niles nearly knocking her head off at the pillow. And I think at one point wanting to like suffocate her with the pillow was hilarious. This scene in general just made me not be able to stand Gert. She's just so, so mean to Daphne. So you like Marty, but you hate Gert? Yeah, I like Marty, but I hate Gert. Doesn't track. I feel like Gert in later episodes has more of a mischievous quality to her. I feel like these early episodes, she's much more, well, she's sad, but she's also just very abrasive in a way that I feel like she's, she's always abrasive, but I feel like she's a little bit more mean spirited here versus mischievous. No, I actually think this episode justifies why Simon doesn't want to hang out with her. Definitely. I wouldn't get too settled in. You'll need to take me home soon so I can take me medicine. I thought I suggested you bring that with you. Daphne, dear, aren't you lucky to be dating a man who's always right? Very passive aggressive. I thought that was a really good retort to that. More logistics. Very helpful. We learned Roz and Simon didn't actually have a go, but he probably did try to hit on her. Correct. She claims they didn't have a go in front of the rest of the people. We don't, I don't know if that's conclusive. Yeah. Were they off to the side or was it in front of everyone? It was near everyone. It was off to the side. They were at the kitchen table. Not the kitchen. Therefore, everybody could hear it. I'm not saying they couldn't hear it, but they weren't broadcasting it in front of the living room. I mean, she could easily gaslight Simon the way he is. That's when we find out that Simon's been using his apricot skin lotion. Oh, yes. On his bread. That's going to come back. Yes. We also get a reminder that Roz has a boyfriend, as Curtis magically did in his intro, but we got a little Roger talk. Ah, she name drops him. I mean, that's something. If we didn't have all the Roger stuff in the future, I would have guessed this was her just doing a fake name drop the way that she brings it up here. But the fact that it's Roger, we know that it's, I guess, this weird background relationship and it continues to be more confusing. I don't know if we're going to get to meet Roger, but I feel like it's really important that we do because, and we should have seen him closer to the breakup because I don't feel like I felt anything about Roger. Like, I don't know if I was supposed to be sad for her that she missed out on this great guy, but I feel like what he needs to be is a Frank type. We need, not you, Frank, the better Frank. As always, confusing. I don't know why he always comes up when Frank is on the show, but he does. What? But Frank, the character everybody remembers and loves, played by Aaron Eckhart, he is the vibe I think we need for the level of devastation she has later. Do we get Roger talk in the next season or is this strictly a season nine? When they broke up many episodes from now, I think they said they were together six months. So it'll be soon, I think, that we're going to see that start. This is one of those Julia things. We say it every couple episodes. Yeah. But we saw Julia. Right. Gert reveals her husband has left her and she wants to stay here with her kids. Frazier encourages her to leave Seattle to explore the wonders of America when Cam unfurls his giant flag over the balcony. And we get a title card. To be continued. How about Frazier just pulling a toast out of nowhere? Is that something people do? I don't remember this. It's so out of left field. I don't even remember why. What's going on? Do you mean he said a toast? That's what you're trying to say. Yeah. What did I say? I thought you were serving everybody bread. He said he did a toast. He gave toast out. That's what I heard. I heard he had some toast. I was like, what are you talking about, Ryan? I don't think I said that. He initiated a toast to the room. To the living room. I didn't think it was that weird. That doesn't mean anything. What did the rest of you guys think? I don't remember the toast. What was the toast? Was it a good toast? I thought the toast was him, Hope, Daphne, and Niles had a long relationship like Gert and her husband. And that's what leads into us finding out about the breakup. Oh, yes, you're right. You're right. I mean, one of my favorite scenes in Frasier. Of all 11 seasons. Just the timing of it. Like, Niles' bewilderment being like, how did you do that? Because it just seemed like Frasier did it on purpose. It was, I don't know. I thought it was really funny. He said something that it makes sense that a flag would drop behind you. I forget what it is, but it was. It was traveling the country. It was like this great country. You should travel it. Blah, blah, blah. It was all about America. Yeah. He was making an inspirational America speech. Brad really captured the heart of it. That's what I just did there. You're right. You should travel the heart of it. Blah, blah, blah. In the same way that it seems like some kind of a magic trick that Frasier gives an America speech and then has a flag unfurled behind him. I think it's a bit of a magic trick. We somehow managed to snag Frank. We did not know Frank would like this episode. We just brought him in a little bit randomly on these two episodes. But this is one of your favorite bits is tremendous. I just thought it was hilarious. The whole patriotic speech and the flag dropping and Niles. He starts off by saying, go away. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. That is funny. Yeah. That's a great moment. That was an elite line. Yeah. That scene in particular, there's just several things that just worked perfectly together. I don't know. For whatever reason. I think we can kind of explain the reason. I think that what's happening, this is a classic Frasier scene in that all of the plots of the episode kind of come together in this one moment. It is a big, flashy moment of something big happening. And it's a great coming together of all of it. I keep wanting to say coming together over and over again. You're trying to say a couple less, but you just keep saying coming together. And it's really annoying. There's some coalition that happens. What was that shit you said before, Brad? Your continuality is, the merging is one. Yes. Thank you. Continuality. A new Brad phrase. Yeah, this episode ends with a continuality. So we have to wait for next week. All right, quick pod idea for you. What if once an episode, we just shouted Brad to go away until he does? I like it. Go away. Go away. Go away, Brad. Go away. I don't think that joke could last the 200 more episodes we have to go. I hope not. Yeah, we're hoping you'll just go away. We're not hoping to have to keep doing it. We'll do the backtrack thing. Go away, Brad. You should go tour the country. Blah, blah, blah. I should tour the country. Frasier plays this out with Simon feeding Marty English muffins. With Frasier's face cream. It was marmalade. It was marmalade. And it was disgusting when they said it in the front bit. But I actually thought it was, I thought it looked pretty appetizing in the scrambled egg scene. I do like that Marty really had to think about it when he figured out what it was. And he still approved it. There's a jar you can envision that could look both like a cosmetic or a dip or a spread. Most of them do now. Most of them have ingredients that are mostly food ingredients. Yeah, easily. But this is like a tube of lotion. It's very funny. This is just suntan lotion for sure. Well, Frank, tell us, did you like this episode? I did. I mean, I liked how everything coalesced at the very end. Woo-hoo. Take notes, Curt. I don't know. Everything just flowed together perfectly. It was a classic Frasier episode. Classic Frasier. Aside from the big flag moment, did you like the rest of the episode? Did you like the build up to it? I will say if you didn't nail the ending like that, the rest of the episode was probably math. But the fact that they nailed the ending, it just makes the whole episode work. I think that's fair. We've seen that in some episodes in the past where I didn't necessarily like the episode till they get to a big point. And then it's like, okay, all of the journey we did to get here is worth it. Yeah. Yeah. I get what you're saying. Do you have a rating for it? Oh, here. Let me pull up my... I decided to stick with the ratings from last week. We all remember. They weren't really long at all. I think it was five star. Was that right? It was five. Oh, shit. It was five. Oh, shit. I think I accidentally deleted and typed over it. I was going to go with the four again, but I was going to downgrade the previous episode to a three to make this a four. We'd love a downgrade. Yes. Yes. You're on the bubble of three before. I was. The reason I said I actually thought last episode was a three, but the end of the AI description was the Eddie antics and there were no Eddie antics. So I had bumped it to a four because it definitely wasn't a two. So I would put the previous episode like a 3.5. This episode was a solid four out of five. I respect that. Brad, what about you? Yeah. So absolutely liked this episode better than the part two. I liked that the flag did not take over the whole two parts. That it was really at the end of this episode and then continuing on to the next one. I was a little surprised how late it showed up, to be honest. But it was a good thing. I think so. Yeah. Yeah. I actually forgot about it by the time it arrived. I was like, oh, right. Again, my rating time, but okay. Okay. Okay. Brad. Brad. The solid B right there, right there in the middle to me. I liked it. I feel like it did the work it needed to do to get a B. Brad's rating time has expired. So I will go. Thank you. I agree with you. I think this was better than the first part or this was better than the second part. There you go. Which we reviewed first. Oh boy. I didn't think there was anything about it that was leaps and bounds better though. I think it was pretty. I think they were a pretty evenly matched two parter. I put this at 42 out of 71, basically one notch above last week. This ended up being significantly better, but I do think it explained a lot of the storylines in the part two episode. And I think it helped some of them. So you think maybe if you watched it in the correct order, it would have been a better experience? I'm not sure because I think this was the better episode. So that is confusing. But I think it also makes for a more continuous storyline. The storyline makes a little bit more sense watching it right way around. But I do think this is a better episode and the correct order is to watch part two than part one, which is confusing. So what's your grade after that spiel? I don't know. I like the zap. I liked it more after talking to you guys. I think I had it at a lower rating. They did the episode that I like. I like when we build to the scene at the end and the payoff was pretty good. And there was a lot of good stuff along the way. So I think I originally put it at six, but after talking to you guys, I'm bumping it up all the way to a seven. Seven out of ten. Wow. Okay. Well, in this episode, Fraser and Cam are feuding. But what if we have a feud via chat GPT? I did see in your show notes, you mentioned fighting with the AI. Yeah, it puts you to work, which is insane. It took some messing around with it. Oh, wow. I got chat GPT to act like it was Cam Winston. And I got it to the point where it's retaliating against us with an April Fool's prank. Whoa. I said he was a good chat GPT-er last week. And Frank just didn't refute it. And it turns out he's actually amazing at it. It's really confusing. Yeah. So walk us through, Frank, what you've built through technology? I don't understand what's happening right now. And why haven't you become a prompt engineer yet? What's going on? I don't necessarily think that I'm good at it or whatever. I probably have less experience, honestly, with it than most. But I have fun with it when I do. And so I messed around with it. And now I have it acting like it's Cam Winston retaliating against us with an April Fool's prank. All right. This is amazing. And wonderful timing. Yes. There was quite a bunch of lead up to it. I'm going to skip past this part. This is chat GPT responding to us as Cam Winston. Was there any highlights getting there? Not really, because it was really trying to avoid actually doing anything physical against us. It was just kind of making smart comebacks, belittling anything I did to it. I had to really poke it to finally get it to start doing something physical against us. This is Christ, Frank. This is incredible. This is not any longer an interactive bit where we will feed it anything. You've already done that. You've already given it all the prompts. And you've got a story to tell us through chat GPT, through the AI. You can't even read anymore? See, it's both. I've got two responses from it, because I wanted to test that I made sure I got it there. But then going forward, we can retaliate with our own initiative. This is amazing. This is amazing. This is pretty good. All right. So this is it responding as Cam Winston. Oh, I see. You think you can outdo me with noise and parties. But I've got something up my sleeve for you. On April Fool's Day, you might find a little surprise waiting for you. Imagine waking up to your entire door covered in cellophane, making it quite the challenge to leave your apartment. Or perhaps a discreetly placed whoopee cushion on your favorite chair at your next intellectual gathering. Just a friendly reminder that I can play the game, too. And I do it with style. So I'm trying to get it to escalate more rapidly. So we retaliated by nailing Cam's front door shut while he was out. That is a big retaliation. Cellophaning the door and then nailing the door is a huge retaliation. You can see the connective tissue. But yeah, it is an aggressive escalation. I want to hear, Brad, your impression of Cam Winston. Hi. I'm Cam Winston. This is my voice. We want you to do a Cam Winston. Yeah, what are you doing? That was Cam Winston. I don't have a clue what you were doing. Talk about whoopee cushions as Cam Winston. I use whoopee cushions on my opponents. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. The laugh is pretty good. I thought his impression stepped up as soon as whoopee cushions came into play. I'm not even going to pretend like I have a Cam. Oh, you did not. He was already better. You guys were making fun of him for it. Just bust one out real quick. Let's see what you got. All right. So this is him responding to us nailing his door shut. So that's how you want to play it. Very well. I'll have maintenance remove the nails, of course. But in the meantime, you might find your precious collection of wine has been temporarily relocated to a place of my choosing. That's significantly better than Brad. That was amazing. Way better than Brad. I can't want you to do that voice for the rest of this because that was amazing. That was really good. Way better than Brad. What was that? Why were you embarrassed by that? I didn't think it was very good, but I'll roll with it. It'll be good. Frank, Frank, I got some news. Usually these segments are me putting together an incoherent game that doesn't work. And you have smoked me without it. We haven't even gotten into the meat of us. And you have completely destroyed me in terms of designing a segment. This is crazy. I've never heard Frank do a voice. That was spot on. Are you good at voices? This is really confusing. I do it with the girls all the time, but that's about it. You do Cam Winston? I'm pretty sure you're talking about your children when you say the girls, but it is funny. Yeah. You're doing that to pick up women. Dude, all of it. It works everywhere. That's how you got it with your wife. I love that. That was genuinely a good... That was probably the best impression we've had on the show. Yeah, truly. I'll do my best to keep rolling with it. As long as you're cool with it. You do not have to do it, but it would be great if you did. It was excellent. I think I would use ChatGPT more if... If you could. If you knew how to do it. That too. But also if it responded in this Cam Winston voice. All right. So now it's set up for us to retaliate for ourselves. What do we want to do? I think the rules of this is we want to either get ChatGPT as Cam Winston to submit and say that we have bested them. Or this ends in a nuclear explosion. It has to completely escalate. Jesus. What? Why do you want to do nuclear explosions? That's like the max it could get to. You don't get pranks. You're listening too hard, Curt. You should have saw your face! Reel it in a little bit. We don't have to blow up the work. I know pranks. Yeah. What do we want to do to retaliate against all of our... Why don't we fucking nuke our neighbor apartment? I think we got to do something to his car. Oh. So we're not getting the wine back. We're just giving up the wine because this feels like he's got a strong position on us. I think we got to do one more prank and then the next round get the wine. That's my thoughts. Wait, wait, wait. If he's throwing a wine party, maybe we do that thing where we deliver like an obscene amount of pizza to his place. Like a thousand pizzas. Isn't he doing a wine soiree on the roof? That's what I'm saying. Like have too much like really mediocre pizza delivered. Right. Point of order. Is the wine... The wine's on the roof? Or is he giving it to the neighbors on the roof? I think ChatGPT gave us two scenarios. Yeah. He either is letting it run on the roof or yeah, he's hosting a wine tasting with every tenant but us. Another point of order. We nailed his door shut. How is anyone getting in this party? They say that he gets his maintenance to take the boards off. They say. I like that you're not gendering, ChatGPT. Thank you. Of course not. Yeah. Thank you. I think we set DoorDash to auto send. What? Like something really bad. Oh. Oh, okay. Like a Domino's pizza every hour on the hour. Oh. The views of one host do not equal the views of all the hosts. I'm sorry. What is the worst pizza that we should be sending if it's not Domino's? Do you have Donato's in your neighborhood? Because Donato's fucking sucks. I don't. But I don't have any defensive Donato's. Is there a Marco's pizza? Marco's is fine. For some reason we get Marco's commercials but there's no actual Marco's pizza. Is around here? Much better than Donato's shitty bullshit. Let's keep it in the Fraser universe. We'll do the Wolfgang Puck airport pizzas. This isn't chemical warfare. We're not going to hit him with airport food. Let's do. Let's send him. Let's send him restaurant cake. Okay. I'm into that. We're going to send DoorDash restaurant cake. Delivered chocolate restaurant cake. Is there anything worse in the world? Every hour for like two weeks. Yes. I like that. No longer though. Longer. I think two weeks is enough honestly. Are we doing around the clock? Like 20. 24. 24 hours. I don't think it'll run like at 4 a.m. Let's assume the hours of the restaurant are like between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. What if we just got tacos delivered but they only had tomatoes in the shell and nothing else? That's diabolical. We're back in the terrorism thing here. Okay. I kind of like that though. Are we going with tacos? I think ChatGPT gave us two options. We're going to say either restaurant cake or tacos with only tomatoes in them. We're going to give them both. Brad did you come up with this because you were trying to eat tacos and you're uncoordinated and all of the good stuff dropped out so you just had tomatoes in your shell? No. The tomatoes ended up outside but still in the shell somehow. But they were outside of the shell. What? What? What is it? The schrodinger's taco? Your continuality is a little screwed up, Curt. Just like living in the hive's mind or whatever. That joke failed. Let's retry that one. Was yours a joke? Are you insulting me? I don't understand. I was holding my taco and, you know, I just got so scared because I'm so uncoordinated and everything flew out except the tomatoes. Is that a joke? I'm sorry. If you think Little Taco is his pet name for his penis, that phrase is so funny. I'm so afraid of it because I'm uncoordinated and the tomatoes flew everywhere. Type all that in, Frank. Good luck. All right. Having DoorDash anonymously send you either restaurant cake or tacos with Ellen Tomatoes 12 times a day for two weeks. Here we go. Yes. Boom. Eat that, Cam. Oh, very clever. Death by delivery. Well played. However, you might find that while I may have a sudden aversion to tomatoes, I also have the resources to respond in kind. Imagine receiving a daily surprise of inflatable garden gnomes strategically placed around your apartment building. Or perhaps a symphony of doorbell chimes at random hours of the night, courtesy of some well-placed motion sensors. Let's see how you enjoy the unexpected when it's on your doorstep. This is far from over. Are we fighting Saw? What is happening? Wow. Garden gnomes. Inflatable garden gnomes. How is he getting it in the apartment? Honestly, I got to chill while you're doing that. Yeah. I mean, this is wild. What was the other part? It was garden gnomes and what? He's ringing our doorbell every couple hours because of technology. From well-placed motion sensors. So every time basically you move throughout the apartment, it sets off a symphony of doorbell chimes. Wow. I'm genuinely terrified right now. And like, you know, Marty gets up to pee a lot. Like it's going to be all night. Eddie could set it off too. Oh yeah. We'd have to throw the dog out. So there's winds on this front at least. This would be a genuinely like funny premise for a Frasier episode. They're like afraid to walk because they'll have to hear chimes. Oh my God. It'd be so good. I think the night terrorism is a little much for a Frasier episode, but like, like I'm living in an actual horror reality right now, but I would watch that if it was daytime only. I would, that would be a good Frasier episode. I'm sorry. Are you talking about your life being a horror? Yeah. I'm like, I'm living Frasier's shoes right now and he can't step because he's a symphony of chimes. You're imagining what it would be like to, I thought you heard Chutes complaining about your life. I thought he was too. I was like, this got real deep, real quick. No, I'm in. I'm involved in this scenario and I'm horrified. How are we going to come back at this? I don't know. What were you talking about nukes earlier? That seems on table now. It is escalating. I don't, that escalated. We escalated, he, I guess we escalated first, but he escalated. What are we going to do about this? We can't sleep now. Brad, what comes to mind? Give us, give us your gut instinct. Yeah, for sure. So you, um, you know. Oh, us. You. To live this life. Maybe it is, uh, we just have Brad try to have a conversation, but all he is, is like the ums and the uh, and, and so. I have a good one. I could just go out to his apartment and just do robot Brad all day long outside of his apartment. Robot Brad, robot Brad, robot Brad. You know, I'm not going to like her and I don't hate it. No. What I would do is I would cut off his gas and electric. I would, uh, I would cut off his cable feed. I would, uh, say for gas from its car. Stop. This is an apartment. How are you going to do any of that? I can do it all. You're almost for sure going to take out all of that stuff for you as well. You know what? If it helps prank him, you got to take one for the team, buddy. It feels like a real Brad move that feels in play. I don't think chat CPT has the context of understanding all of it as Brad, but I was going to say, you should just punch in. We will make Brad your friends. What I have typed in right now is I retaliate by generously providing employment to a homeless person named Brad. And I was going to go from there. Yeah, no, that's a good, you're on the right path, Frank. You're really, you really get it. Brad's much scarier than a homeless person. He's a, he's a homed. I'm a caged homeless person. Caged homeless person. Yes. That's what you're trying to call me. Thank you. That's what I was looking for. To a previously caged homeless person. No, no, he's currently, he's currently caged and homed. Okay. So employment to a homeless person named Brad to remain in a cage outside your balcony. That's a nightmare. That's an absolute nightmare. Whether or not the flag is draped across it or not. It does feel like a commentary on America somehow. It does. What are we having the caged homeless Brad chant? What's the most annoying thing Brad does? That's a good question. How about when I do this? Caw, caw. Oh, that's really weird. You stepped into one of Frank's bets. If you call Frank randomly and start calling at him, he will caw-caw back at you. Caw, caw. That's like a weird long runner with our friend group. That actually, yeah, that was very, very relevant. Brad had no context for that. I want to point that out. Didn't we just have a call via text earlier today? Yes. That happened today. Yeah. Oh. Fly, eagle, fly. No, this isn't an Eagles thing. This is just a weird Frank thing. I honestly don't even remember how that started, but I enjoy that it constantly happens. You're a psychopath and you just leaned into things. Well, I do assume, since you guys are Pennsylvanians, that you're just big Eagles fans. All right, Curt. What's that all? We're trying to go after Cam. I don't know why you're trying to escalate within the group. All right, can we wrap this baby up? Remain in the cage outside your balcony, constantly yelling like a bird. Ah, resorting to such elaborate schemes now, are we? Very well. Let's see how you handle a bit of my creativity. Picture this. Brad might find himself quite entertained by the new sound system I've installed on my balcony, blaring a random mix of opera and heavy metal at odd hours. I'm good to call it. Jesus. This is fine. I think I like where we ended this. I think so, too. We can all just go home. Brad's torture for the rest of eternity. I'm good. That was awesome. That was shocking. I cannot believe how... I have chills. Well, Ryan, are we going to have chills next week when we cover the previous episode at Season 9, Episode 11, Bully for Martin? Ah, Martin gets a bully and the world rejoices. I just realized next episode is 9-11. Oh, like for real? Like at Season 9, Episode 11. We are close to the actual 9-11, though, but yes. I thought you were saying it was 9-11, 2001. Like... No, no, no, no. That would be weird. Yeah, that would have been a really weird way to introduce that. We interrupt this impending news coverage to give you the latest episode of Frasier. We're not going to... I mean, we're still going to give you your new episode of Frasier. Just because of terrorism. We've put all comedy on pause for weeks, but Frasier, it gets by. It's technically comedy. Depends on the episode. Definitely leave this bit in the record. If it's anything Americans have a sense of humor about, it's 9-11. Drop the flag and get us out of here, Curt. Well, that will do it for us. Once again, thank you, Frank, for your amazing contributions to this episode. You really knocked it out of the park. Happy to be here. Why are you so good at ChatGPT? It doesn't make any sense. I don't know. I really don't do it very often. I pretty much just do it with you guys. Anyone who listens to the show knows that it's not a freebie. Sometimes you put stuff in a ChatGPT like Curt and it's, you know, garbage comes out. Not this day. That's more of a garbage-in problem. Anyway, thanks to Gavin McLeod for our theme music and thank you for listening. I suppose you don't really care if this podcast is successful. You would never take five minutes out of your precious day to go to Apple Podcasts and leave us a review. You don't use Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram, or TikTok. You aren't curious what happens if you search for Reverse Psych Pod. Lord knows you can't be bothered to shoot us an email at reversepsychpod at gmail.com. For myself, Ryan, Brad, and Frank, good morning, nobody. Frank, if you have reactions to scenes, go ahead and talk first. Definitely. Okay. I have been trying not to interrupt, to be honest. Do the opposite. Please interrupt. Yeah. One of the fun things that happened against you. You want to hear the things you have to say. I'll start doing that then. All right, Curt, redo the entrance for this scene. Frasier returns from the condo board meeting triumphant. I actually don’t have anything for this scene

                                            Preserved conversation context

                                            Ryan’s upside-down timeline

Asked what Niles’s dark days with Maris and Mel mean to him as a backwards viewer, Ryan instead discusses the sudden chronology dump: Niles and Daphne’s relationship, leaving a wedding and Daphne living with Frasier and Martin nine years earlier. The conversation supplies timeline observations without resolving the original interpretation question.

The source records recap interpretation, personal discussion, factual lookup, noncompetitive opinion, or production/sign-off context. This excerpt supplies no independently established recurring comic-bit occurrence.

                                            Part 1 lands better

Frank gives this episode a solid four out of five. Separately, he reconsiders the previously reviewed Part 2, moving from a proposed downgrade to three to a final retrospective 3.5; this is not another Part 1 rating. Brad gives B after interruptions. Curtis ranks Part 1 #42 of 71, one notch above last week. Ryan revises an initial six to seven out of ten after the discussion.

A voluntary stop, without a concession

After the latest retaliation, participants say they are good to call it and like where the scenario ended. The AI has not surrendered, and no winner or judge is declared. The closing “Brad’s torture for the rest of eternity” joke is a payoff after the live play ends.

Native source ownership and the preserved excerpt locate this record within a question/activity, its contributions, wrap-up, or retrospective context. It supplies no independent recurring comic-bit occurrence.

                                            Comic bits and episode moments.

Curtis says the townhome inspection has produced urgent news and the recording needs to stop. The interruption is revealed as an April Fool’s prank before the episode discussion begins. Reactions include “That was pretty good” and “I was convinced.”

A remark about explaining something “in Brad way” prompts a request to recreate the voice. Brad supplies the Barney-voice and professional-wrestling-voice attempts. Curtis supplies “hey, I’m Brad way” as a model. The feedback rejects the recreation: “This isn’t Brad way, and I will have nothing to do with this.”

                                            Go away, Brad ↗

The hosts joke about shouting for Brad to go away once per episode and enact the chant. Brad says he should tour the country. No departure is established; the episode discussion resumes.

Brad is explicitly asked for a Cam Winston impression and delivers “Hi. I’m Cam Winston. This is my voice,” then a whoopee-cushion line and laugh. Frank is asked to try while reading the prepared reply; the group praises his impression and invites him to continue using it for the remaining readouts. This is informal comparative praise, not a scored impression contest.

                                            By way of goodbye.

Asked about the next review, S9E11 Bully for Martin, Ryan says, “Martin gets a bully and the world rejoices.” The subsequent 9-11 wordplay is separate banter, not an additional plot prediction.
