Welcome to Reverse Psychology, the Fraser Rewatch podcast where we go backwards through every episode of the show. Tonight, we're covering Season 11, Episode 10, CBGBs, which originally aired on December 2nd, 2003. Is this our first pun title? Or are all of them pun titles? We'll find out. I'm your host, Curtis Schack. Joining me as always, our resident upside downer, it's Ryan Sansone. Curtis, I'm excited to see the Bee Gees here with you tonight as well. Great. And now on a more somber note, I'm tasked with the difficult obligation to in memoriam at the top of the show. We lost our frequent guest, Bradley Kirkston, this year. Why did I die? Oh, my. Bradley? Is that you? It's me. Also with us today, it's zombie Bradley Kirkston. What up, homies? I'm just as cool in zombie life as I am in real life. You don't have to actually sound like a zombie. Oh, I'm just being the characters. It was important. You don't have to be the character. Zombies don't talk. I just imagined it was going to go on for like a year or two. Yeah, you should have went, ugh. For the zombie voice. That's not a zombie voice. The robot voice. Maybe a little later, I'll sing a song in my zombie voice. Please. Well, we actually took last week off from recording the podcast. So, I thought before diving into the episode, I wanted to catch up with y'all. What did you use for your time off? What did you do? I can go first. A friend of mine from college came to visit. Anybody we know? Yes. That was me. What happened? You guys got to meet each other in person for the first time in forever? Yeah, it was fun. Was that the first time we saw each other since the pandemic? No, because we went to a wedding together. Okay. That sounds like we went as a couple. Well, we did. Didn't you guys kind of? Yeah, we saw you in a room. He picked me up. That is true. I guess that is true. We did kind of go as dates. Um, and you haven't seen each other since, but it did not go well. And yeah, we did not decide to continue the relationship. So what was it like seeing your ex? I would say, crucially, I brought my new boyfriend to Oh, rubbing it in to the hang. Yeah. And Curtis and I got really drunk on $13. Are you can drink mimosas? Oh my gosh, this was the most amazing thing we took us. So I was visiting him in his city and he took us to this restaurant for brunch and they had the bottomless mimosas thing. I've never in my life seen the price tag $13 for bottomless mimosas. How many mimosas did you guys have without bottoms? Eight? They were filling up halfway at one point. Like we drank a lot. And they were not, to be clear, most of them were like 90% champagne. These were not like watered down mimosas. That's fun. I haven't done a bottomless mimosa probably since the pandemic. Is it, did it slap where you guys, you guys were feeling it? It was great. The food was also very good. So that helps. I had to go on a bus to head back to New York City right after. And it was, it was good because you want to be toasted on a bus. But also it was bad because this bus, the one time it stopped, the bus station was closed. And so I, they, there was no bathroom. Ooh. Well, you're, you're a guy. You could just go pee anywhere. It's fine. Well, we were in the middle of a city. Like it was a little, a little weird. Yeah. Just dip into an alley. What do you mean? Like there was a tree, but we, we, the bus driver is very kind. And he, uh, made a special bus stop for me. Wait, wait, how many people were on this bus? I don't know. 20, 30. And what? So you go up to the front and you're like, excuse me, bus driver. I really need to pee. I think he saw frantically. I was looking for a bathroom at the bus station. And so he was just like, he made an announcement right after I'm going to, there was no bathroom here. So I'm going to go and stop at the nearest trust stop. I'm worried that this guy is going to pee in my bus. It's a valid concern. Again, a lot of mimosas. You wouldn't pee in the city, but you'd pee on a bus. Is that weird? Yeah. Priorities, man. Ryan, what about you? What, uh, what did you get up to this last week? Oh, I tried to go visit Dolly Parton herself. Whoa. Yeah. We, we drove down to Knoxville, Tennessee to go to Dollywood. Knocking around in Knoxville. Knocking around in Knoxville. I do not recommend. First of all, first of all, she wasn't even there. I don't think. That doesn't sound right. It takes forever to get into Dollywood. I don't know what they are doing. Dolly, we love you, but please, please fix the entrance to your park. Oh, we were in, we waited to get into the park for two hours. It was crazy. Did you have tickets added? Were you waiting in line to get tickets or just to get scanned into the park? Well, there's, there's many phases of waiting. We, we were in line just to get into the parking lot. Bro. In the parking lot, you go into, there's like a three lane highway that then turns into a like 10, 10 lane gate that then goes back to like a five lane because there's five different parking lots you can end up in. Uh, the signage isn't very good. And even if it was, it doesn't matter because you get stuck in these lanes anyway. Uh, it's just madness and chaos. You finally get to where you're going and then you have to wait in line to get on a train. Cause you're so far away from the actual park when you park. So they have these little like trams and you think like, maybe I'll just walk, but they don't have sidewalks. So there's like no feasible way to do that. You'd have to like go through traffic. It's crazy. Uh, and then you get down there and yeah, we still had to buy our tickets, bought our tickets and then still had to wait in line to get physically into the park. It was just crazy. I, when you said that, uh, physically into the park, I thought you were just going to say, so get our physical before we'd be allowed entry. I would have been way faster if we all just would have got physicals once you were inside. Was it a good park? I have no idea what happened in Dollywood. No, it's terrible. I mean, it's okay. So like it's a regular amusement park, but they put it like onto the side of a mountain. So everything's like really congested. And like, there's not a ton of bathrooms. There's not a ton of eating spots that you would hope. So like there's lines for everything that you could ever imagine. And there's like six rides cause it's a mountain. And no Dolly Parton. I don't think she was there. We, we, we yelled her name a lot, especially my daughter, but yeah, it was fine. We bought a great cowboy hat, cowgirl hat, I guess. Nice. I feel awkward about, uh, how, how bad of an experience you had because surprise, uh, Dolly Parton has a very substantial recurring role in Frasier. So in a couple of seasons, you're going to be seeing a lot of her. Although we still love Dolly. We just want her to fix her park tremendously. I think one way that she could help if there was $18 or if there was $13 bottomless mimosas, I would have been fine. For sure. You should have come to Baltimore, America's favorite city. Yeah. I'm not going to do that, but you know, I could have used mimosas. I love the beauty of the upside down is that you really, you might really be starting Dolly Parton. You'll be waiting for it. I'm excited about that. On that note, why don't we, uh, slip into the episode? Uh, why not? Yeah. Actually, there's a palate cleanser from Dollywood. Let's do it.

The Hitler Award for sweatiest person on the show.
Title: The Hitler Award for sweatiest person on the show. Activity description: It's the first annual Mid-Season Reverse Psychology Awards. We have gathered here to honor the best and brightest this season has to offer. Presenting our first award, Ryan. Ah, yes. The Hitler Award for sweatiest person on the show. The nominees are... My nomination is going to be Kenny, because in every scene, he's incredibly sweaty. Hmm. Okay. Makes sense. I would like to nominate Frasier himself, because I feel like he is slimy, especially around women, and some of that's got to be sweat. Okay. Okay. You stole my nomination, so I'll have to pick a different one. Oh, I was going to nominate Frasier, because do you remember when he planned a wedding and then made everyone wait outside? So he himself wasn't sweaty, but he caused like 90 people to be sweaty for no reason. He could have just easily let them in. Oh, wow. Okay. That's insane to how your brain works. But actual sweaty people, there's the bald guy when they're all in the sauna. He was the sweatiest of all of them. Oh, yeah. No. Yeah, probably. He's been on screen twice, so I have no idea if that's true, but yeah, probably no. And the winner is... Kenny Powers. The guy we all know and love. Come on down, sweaty man. Yeah, thank you for getting my last name incorrect, but whatever. Is that not his name? Being... No, double flow. So, winning this award is something that I truly honor. This is an experience I never thought I would get, and being able to win this award will help me and my family continue on our life journey. I'd like to thank all of my audience and everyone. Wow. Big win for Kenny getting the Hitler Award. My favorite part is that he's not accepting the word on behalf of Kenny. He's pretending to be Kenny. Oh, I think I was going to do the same thing. Is that not what we're supposed to do? I guess I wasn't clear about that. It's super weird that you're just pretending to be a voice you clearly aren't. All right.

best couple award
Title: best couple award Activity description: Well, presenting the next award. I am presenting the best couple award. Oh. I'm going to choose Frazier and his first wife. What? What? You can't choose that. We've only seen... That hasn't been on the show. Yes, she has. She hasn't been on the show. Yes, she has. No, she hasn't. His son has been on the show, but... No. Oh, you mean... Oh, you're talking about Nanny G. Yes. Stop interrupting me. Let me finish. You could have named her. I was a belter and you interrupted me. Oh, I thought you were being insane. Frazier and Nanny G, his first wife. Sorry, I said it right that time. That is who I would like to vote for best couple, because that was one of the funniest scenes on sitcom television. Doesn't really make you best couple. Oh, we'll see who the winner is at the end. Okay. Well, I, of course, am going to elect Frazier as well, but of course it's Frazier and Frank. That emotional connection. Jesus. It doesn't get more electric than that. I would like to nominate Ronnie and Marty. He is an old and will be dead soon. She is his son's age and loves to party, likely quickening Martin's death. And still, this is the most healthy relationship we've seen. Oh, yeah, easily. The only problem with that relationship is that Marty is part of it. If I could just elect Ronnie. He barely is. He barely is. True. And the winner is Frazier and Frank. Accepting the award on their behalf is Ryan. I wish Frazier and Frank could be here today, but, you know, I, uh, are you going to cue me for music or? I'm sorry. I forgot to do that. That was all. One job. Should I start from the top or just act like a mid-spish? Sure. Go ahead and start from the top. Uh. Ah. Can you start from the top? Welcome to Reverse Psychology. The Frazier Reliance Ball. And winner is Frazier and Frank. Oh, Frazier and Frank wish that they could be here. They just wanted to say that they are having a wonderful time in the Bahamas. Uh. Uh. Thank you. best appetite
Title: best appetite Rules: This award can be one for something that somebody ate on the show, a way they ate on the show, anything that has to do with food. Activity description: Finally, Bradley. Hi. My name is Bradley Kirkston and I'm presenting the next award. That's not how people present things. I have my own presentation style. Thank you. My next. You have the presentation style of like Chad GPT. Yeah. My next. My next award is something that in high school we convinced somebody that they spelled it wrong. Um. We're going to go with, um, best appetite. Who has the best appetite? This award can be one for something that somebody ate on the show, a way they ate on the show, anything that has to do with food. Which one did you convince that they spelled wrong? Best or appetite? Ape tit. We told a girl that instead of saying apple poll, they spelled it as ape tit. The best ape tit awards are way snappier. Yeah. All right. So, so who are your nominations for best appetite? Uh, I'm going to nominate Niles, of course. My man prepared to get super crispy and to do so he bought a, what was it? An aggressive Zinfandel. Mm-hmm. I mean, how, how much, how much more best ape tit can you possibly get? I am nominating Daddy because he tried to eat an entire turkey and he, he ate even a ring. Like he, most of what we've seen of him is him eating things. I thought you were for sure going to nominate Marty. You've tried two weeks in a row to do a Marty meal. So yeah, I'm going to pick Marty for, for, but not neither of those ones for when he ate, um, Niles' brownie. Oh. Best appetite just because he was going on an actual diet and would eat anything but decided to eat a brownie? And then was more hungry because he was high. Okay. Go ahead, Ryan. Say, say which one you, you would prefer other than your own. Yeah. So I think I hate Daddy, so I'm not going to choose. I don't like Marty either. Oh, what a dilemma. I think, do I have to go strictly on why you nominated them or can I just choose them despite your terrible reasons? I think that's fine. Well, I'm going to give it to Marty then. I mean, chips and pudding. Come on. Yeah, it's Marty. That means Brad is accepting. Do we want Brad for you to accept? Yeah. Except, except, except on behalf of Marty this time. Yeah. I was going to say something really funny. Fine. Oh, okay. Then accept as Marty. That'd be great. Let me accept as Marty. I think this will be worth it. There's no chance. Go ahead. I'm so happy I finally won. You know, being. I finally won. Being, being shot in the buttocks or wherever I was shot in the lake. I don't really remember. That was really woke me up. Why are you not getting louder? Sorry. Try to talk over the music. I'm getting louder. This is Marty getting louder. I'm an old man. I like to sit in my seat. Yeah, that didn't work out the way I would. What part was the funny part? I can accept for Marty. I can redo that. Great. I can't believe I thought. Let's come up with a segment that requires them to act at all. Please accept on behalf of Marty. I'm not going to edit this at all. None of my ideas of putting in music and turning it into a real award show is happening. I'm just going to put it all out there unedited as a plot. That's a shame. Accept this word for my buddy. That's too bad. Marty really deserves this. He couldn't be here tonight because he's busy being dead. But I'd like to just accept this award for him. Whoa, wait, what? What do you mean he's busy being dead? Sorry, the actor that played Marty, whatever. You're not doing the actor. You're doing the character. Well, Curtis has enough to put something together. I haven't heard anything yet. Just give your damn speech, but get louder as you do it. That's all you have to do. Sorry. All right, let's try this again. I would like to accept this speech on behalf of Marty. Marty really deserves this. He's really doing a lot. What do you mean you're accepting a speech? Oh, crap. Also got quieter as he went. Oh, my God. I'd like to accept this award on behalf of my friend Marty. Marty cannot be here tonight, and so I'm accepting it on his behalf. He could not be here tonight. He couldn't get louder. He just goes slower. Talk louder does not mean act like you're talking to a deaf person other than the loud part. You just kind of added space between every single syllable. You didn't talk louder. I can't really talk louder. No, you might have been quieter again. Do you have like a voice modulation disorder? Just pretend you're in public and just talk like how you normally talk to us all the time. Use that voice. I'd like to accept this word on behalf of my friend Marty. Marty could not be here tonight. He's resting. Better. You got louder for one word. It's fine. It's fine. Awesome. Thank you. Let's move on. Those were some wonderful awards.

Scores: 7.9 But still, I think that was really middle of the pack effort. Important beats: I didn't like the Frasier-Niles back and forth, but I did like the Roz and her sister back and forth. I would have liked to see Niles get more comeuppance and Frasier to get even more comeuppance. Answer qualification: Well, this one will probably be going down in the next couple weeks. Good news, nothing else got bumped down after this episode.
