By way of introduction.

Ryan

I am your host and honored announcer, Ryan Two-timing Sansone.

Curtis

Willing to take on a comatose person, holding a spit bucket as we speak, and hailing from the upside down: Curtis the Murtis Scheck.

Kenny

And his opponent, my co-host, who has seen all of the movies, representing Curtis’s old house: old-school Kenny.

Ethan

And our special guest referee, giving us a full Scheck house, hailing from the secret capital of dentists: Ethan no-teething Scheck.

Someone brought rules.

The games, the premises, and what everyone brought to the table.

How this one works

Premise and rules
  1. You are headed to Warden State Forest, a sprawling pinewood forest about an hour outside of Philly.
  2. Like last time, you will collect camping gear and explain how you will use it to survive wilderness scenarios. But this time you will face each scenario together as a group.
  3. persistent equipment: You can reuse them. This time, this is what's in your gear. And you can use more than one tool at a time, like mix and mash.; initial announcement: You're not getting any new items.; later exceptions: target: skills; consumable qualification: You don't lose a hatchet because you use the hatchet. You still have the casings the emergency food rations were in, but you don't have the food inside because you ate that.
  4. If he wins with the tent, then he's going to get three points and then two points and then one point. So you get the most points for having the best contribution, both in terms of will you stay alive because of it? And also, did you have a funny explanation that I enjoyed?
  5. I will rank your answers both in terms of effectiveness and entertainment value.

Rules: Ethan, as an Eagle Scout, you are incredibly resourceful. At any time, you can scavenge to find one additional item of your choosing from the list. Ryan, despite being a bit of a scatterbrain, you're incredibly lucky. At any time, you may reach into your pocket and discover you have a mystery item. And Kenny, as a telecommunications professional with some clout as an Emmy nominee, you may at any time call for the assistance of Harrison Ford. Now, there is no clearing for him to land his helicopter, so he cannot rescue you, but he can parachute down anything you want. It does not have to be from the list. You get to keep it. And you can use more than one tool at a time, like mix and mash. Question
Question / challenge

How do you get rest while protecting yourselves from danger?

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

I could use my multi-tool to get myself enough sticks to build a little small shelter, and I'll be safe, whether Ethan shares his tent or not. Answer qualification: I got a knife built into the multi-tool. There's a saw built into that thing I've got.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

I didn't take wilderness survival, and I don't know anything about that, but I can kind of stand behind Kenny while he's doing that, and I can use my sturdy knife and do whatever he's doing with his shitty multi-tool and just kind of copy and paste. Answer qualification: I'm not using the hatchet here. Raw respondent mention: Brian, I got to say, you were so poised to get at one point here, just being a copycat.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

I'm going to hang back when we're hiking a bit because I'm not sure if I trust Ryan, and I'm going to keep track of where we are on the map. Yeah, and so because I know where we're at, because I was keeping track in the back of the hiking trail, I decided to make my way out while you guys were sleeping. Answer qualification: If I went for the obvious thing, I wouldn't be any fun.

handheld two-way radio

Action: Before anyone does anything, I'm going to check my pockets for a random item for no reason. Choice: handheld two-way radio Method: Let me randomize the list.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

Everyone said that I successfully built a shelter last time. I'm just hanging out in it, right? If you don't let me in, I will hit you with the hatchet in your head till you die. I will knife Ethan and I will hatchet Kenny. Now that I can use that every time I'm lighting your tent on fire with a camp stove, probably. I also lassoed Kenny with the paracord and or rope, if I can do that. I also ate my food rations and didn't share.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

I will let you into the shelter if you give me a tool. I'm going to use my Eagle Scout skills to get a windproof lighter and light you on fire. We're going to take the multi-tool and we're going to duct tape it to a tree so that it will be a lightning rod. I believe I have repair tape. Selection or action: windproof lighter Answer qualification: I opened up the deal to everyone.

Yeah, sure. Duct tape it to the tree that he built his shelter on. I tried to make a deal with Ethan. It didn't work.

Harrison Ford in a costume

Well, first off, I'm calling Harrison Ford at this point. Yeah, can I just get Harrison Ford? But I want him dressed as Indiana Jones. Choice: Harrison Ford in a costume Answer qualification: For the record, it's Harrison Ford. It's not a part he played. It's a working whip.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

I offer him some of my food. If you beat this bear, I will cook something up on my camp stove that definitely works. Medicingly, I'm like, if you don't kill this bear, I'm going to kill you. Answer qualification: Well, I was going to give him some food and then you said I didn't have any. So yeah, now I'm going to threaten him. I'm going to check the helicopter, see if there's food in there. Adjudication verdict: What you've done is done. I'm just telling you the outcome of your own words.

How will you finally escape the forest? Answer qualification: Beyond survive, you have to get out of there.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Well, I'm gonna use my water filter to fill Ethan's water bottle up with fresh water. I'm filtering that water, and it's just dripping into my mouth. I'm following the stream. Let's put him in the water and use him as a raft. Answer qualification: You're not gonna get to Ethan, because I've got a whip to keep you back.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

I'm gonna take my windproof lighter, and I'm gonna light up this map, and you guys can go to hell. I think it would be more respectful to Harrison Ford if we used my repair tape to mummify him. And then he can belong in a museum. While he's up there, I grab some brush, and I use the windproof lighter to start a fire at the bottom of the tree.

RECORDED ANSWER / CHOICE

Recorded conversation

Ethan has to agree to that, and I will definitely stab him. What if I kind of, like, paracord up to the top of a tree, and I kind of, like, scout around, and I'm like, I can then probably see civilization. I kind of think if you light up the fire, though, I think I could kind of Spider-Man to the next tree. If you don't light me on fire, we could oar down the stream. Curt, I jump to another tree.

I have now seen Rocky II. It was my first time seeing it. Although, so I think the only one I had seen all the way through was the first one. So I had that going for me. And then I knew the gist of what happens in the succeeding films. Time out. What do you mean you knew the gist of what would happen in the succeeding films? Plural. Because all these movies are the same. I remember seeing just the beginning of the fourth one where we see the living in America, dancing and everything. And then Apollo Creed being killed. Not even the beginning. That's like in the middle of the movie. Is that in the middle? Okay. Well, I saw that part. He came into the middle of the movie on TV once. It was the beginning to him. We've all done it. Exactly. Listen, the world revolves around Ethan. We get it. Look, the entire premise of this program. Are you going to tell me like, oh, the order you watch things isn't the order it happened? Ethan, we do it in an order, just not in the normal order. We still have standards. All right. Whatever. The point is, I saw that scene as a child and it disturbed me because I was like, how could this man so full of life be knocked out and killed? You know, what's interesting is I think the first time I saw Rocky IV was on TV and I only remember seeing that scene. So maybe it was the same time. I don't think I was aware that someone could die in a boxing match like that. Oh. They usually don't. They usually don't. I mean, it has happened. It's not like it's an unprecedented event. I think he's the only one who's ever been dressed like Uncle Sam though. Okay. So had you seen anything else or that was it? You got scarred from one moment. Just the first one and then the scene that's apparently in the middle of the movie for Rocky IV. And then, yeah, that's pretty much it. Haven't seen the Creeds. Didn't see Rocky Balboa.

But what I would happily do is be the janitor for a movie theater. If I was able to just watch movies for free all the time, that's what I would do.
