Death or No Death

How this one works

Premise
  1. Ryan hosts, Brad assists as BJ and Curtis is the contestant. Six illustrated briefcases are offered: four safe outcomes and two fatal ones are announced. Five cases are actually opened. Curtis dies once, is revived, and ultimately receives an explicit win. Four days off is abandoned before its reveal. This is fictional comedy, not real danger or a medical intervention.
Briefcase menu
  1. Jerry Springer, a Kraken Wave Runner, Rosie O’Donnell, four days off work, a Renaissance festival and a turkey club. Named hunks hold the cases as comic roles; they are not visiting podcast guests. Some names are inconsistently transcribed, so no canonical guest identities are created.
Outcome
  1. Curtis wins after an actual fictional death and revival. No numeric points or perfect-survival record are assigned. The announced six choices are not six completed rounds.

RESULT STATUS

Cheers, introductions and six fictional hunks

The show welcomes Curtis with cheers. A request for a repeated woo leads to another performance and reactions; Ryan requests the repeat and Curtis performs it. Brad, addressed as BJ, introduces the hunks by places of origin, prompting a joke when a country itself seems to be the hunk. The menu and pictures are then explained to Curtis.

More of this contribution
  • Ryan asks for the first repeated contestant cheer.
  • Curtis performs the requested repeated woo cheer.

The game closes after the declared win

The hosts wrap up Death or No Death after Curtis’s win. The unused option is not opened in this ending, and the episode forecast belongs to the following conversation.

The rest of the round record

0 primary recorded exchanges · 0 retained source actions. 0 additional round events; 0 overlapping source alternatives. A source action may be a clue, reply, reaction or interruption—not necessarily a participant answer.

1. Kraken Wave Runner — survives

Curtis asks for the second option, confirms the Kraken Wave Runner and hears its scenario. Despite the threatening setup, the reveal explicitly leaves him alive. Ryan narrates the outcome.

2. Renaissance festival — dies, then is revived

Curtis selects the Renaissance festival. BJ narrates that Bob poisons the popcorn and Curtis dies. The hosts call Dr. Kirstenstein, who says precisely, repeats it on request and sings. Curtis says he has been brought back by the power of song, then complains that the song made him queasy. Ryan physically performs Dr. Kirstenstein’s precisely and singing revival and requests the repeated precisely. The fictional doctor name does not assign the performance to Brad. This revival follows an actual fictional death; it does not erase that outcome.

3. Jerry Springer — survives

After returning to play, Curtis chooses the Jerry Springer case, with a correction of the holder’s name. A chair strikes him during the imagined show; he is prompted to gasp and the reveal explicitly says he survives. Curtis narrates the outcome.

4. Four days off is abandoned; Rosie O’Donnell — survives

Curtis initially chooses four days off work. The presenters coach him by explaining that each author wrote one death and discussing which author’s fatal case he has already encountered. Curtis says he was not tracking authorship, then switches to Rosie O’Donnell. The resulting Times Square stairs-and-car scenario ends in near-death survival. Curtis explains the one-death-per-author setup and narrates the Rosie outcome. Four days off receives no enacted outcome; no detailed fate is invented for it.

5. Turkey club — survives and wins

Curtis chooses the turkey club. The reveal dwells on dry ciabatta, no mayonnaise, two turkeys and a dry mouth, then describes sandwich heaven figuratively. The segment explicitly announces that Curtis wins. Ryan narrates the outcome and announces Curtis’s win. There is no numeric score.
